I'm jealous of your 40 regular Gobbos. I've had 20 built for a while and a few more unbuilt split between wolf riders and chariots as I get the parts. Seeing 40 of them appear (followed 30 minutes after I bought them by 20 completely unbuilt ones with all the parts =C) for cheap when I have all the spares needed to fix them was too tempting.

Bought a set of Isengard dice and am prepping for a bunch of Rohan terrain as the new War in Rohan stuff drops for MESBG. Finally my Uruks will have something to pillage and raze!

Picked up some ruins of Osgiliath as well as a bunch of storage boxes so that I can more accurately and easily store my miniatures. Hi! Have you made the Ruins of Osgiliath yet? If so, how does their size compare to WFB miniatures? I have LOTR Army of the Dead as Grave Guard and they work fine, the scale difference is not noticeable. I like the Osgiliath ruins more than the Azyrite ones. Also, do you know if Mirkwood Elves fit as well? Cheers!

They just arrived in the mail yesterday but I'm having trouble finding time for any hobby these days - I should hopefully be able to get to these this weekend(?) Unsure about the Mirkwood elves, no one in my group plays them so I can't attest to their scale. I only have access to Moria, Mordor, Isengard, Rohan, and Minas Tirith.

I've got some Mirkwood Rangers buried somewhere in my storage boxes. I can get a scale photo of them next to some WFB models if that helps? I don't have the Ruins of Osgiliath kit though.

Thanks ryryak2, no pressure or rush to make them for my sake. Did you buy it intending to use with WFB? Or LotR as normal? Sedge, that would be nice of you, but if you remember off the top of your head whether they would fit in or not? Just your opinion would help just fine.

The new ogre tyrant, a Scrap Launcher for my ogres...
And 2 boxes of the new Night Goblins (squigs, fanatics and trolls!)
I'd better speed up the painting on my zombies! Lol

If so, how does their size compare to WFB miniatures? I have a set of Osgiliath Ruins and they work very well as Warhammer Fantasy scenery. Certainly they are a cheaper buy (and fit better) than the new Age of Sigmar scenery sets in my view.

Hobbit Palace Guard / WFB Eternal Guard / Hobbit Mirkwood Ranger / WFB Glade Guard My view is they don't work well. The height difference is especially noticeable for the Palace Guard / Eternal Guard. I think it's only less so for the Ranger / Glade Guard due to the Glade Guard figure's leaning-forward pose. The Hobbit miniatures are significantly "daintier" - they're skinny, with smaller heads/limbs/hands, and the weapons are very small in comparison. However, I'd also say that the Army of the Dead models wouldn't work well as Grave Guard. I know others have different views on mixing scales of models, and plenty of people use historical miniatures in Empire/Bret armies. If you think the Army of the Dead work fine, then it shouldn't be any different for the Mirkwood elves - they'd fit just as well (or just as badly) depending on your point of view.

Thank you Lordofskullpass for your opinion, you've sold them to me. Thank you very much Sedge for setting up the photo and sharing your thoughts. I see what you mean by them being dainty. I love their poses but they do look a lot simpler than the multi-bit miniatures of Fantasy. Their size difference looks more noticeable than the Army of the Dead too. Thanks for your reply.

I just bought a unit of halfling town guard from warploque miniatures. I'm going to use them as greatswords in my halfling empire army.

Some days you really do find a great deal. I picked up a random "warhammer lot" on Ebay for pretty cheap. I mostly got it because it had a GF9 arc of visibility (which I have been looking for some time) and it had a set of battle magic cards which I am giving to a friend. But oh there were other treasures to be found.
Also included were two complete 6th ed Cold One Chariots, 7th ed Dark Elf General & Sorceress on cold ones, 6th ed sorceress on cold one, some beastmaster, and a complete Maleus Darkblade on foot model. Plus a stack of unopened brushes. In all a good lot for the price.

I'm intending to use them for LotR, but I'm sure they'll also see use for Fantasy or whatever other type of game ends up being played on my table. I demoed LotR this weekend to two of my brothers and one of them really enjoyed it, the other one didn't enjoy the whole "needing 6's to wound" basically anything Isengard had. I don't think he'll enjoy playing against "tough" armies like Warriors of the Dead, Dwarves (of any variety), and Isengard. Looks like either a Moria or a Mordor focus is in the future for me. Didn't get around to the ruins yet but I will. I want to build at least one set sometime this week.
