Alternative. where every self-respecting dwarf gets their big hat these days. Are those the remastered great weapons? They look so different from their blue-painted ones.

Alternative. where every self-respecting dwarf gets their big hat these days. Are those the remastered great weapons? They look so different from their blue-painted ones. so I am not super-firm on Alternative company history but here is what I pieced together about great weapon chaos dwarfs: 1. what I have is the 'original' box (with the red dwarfs in the box art). they have uber-heroic axes and their heads are separate. 2. then there is the 'remastered' box (with the blue dwarfs on the box). they have smaller axe heads and heads+torso are one piece. supposedly that makes assembly and ranking up easier. They are still selling both boxes, it's not like the 'remastered' replaced the older version. In fact, last I checked the only the original box was available in their ebay store. And, to muddy the waters a bit, the command group champion has a big axe as well. That is a separate box.
...and that is a sweet battle scene. how to gather lots of firewood for the furnaces: let the wood come to you.

What's the casting quality like on the Alternative models? They look good from your photos. Back from holiday, and I've got 5 fair-haired dwarves finished for my Thunderers/warmachine crew: Next up are some dawi with flowing chestnut-coloured locks.

What's the casting quality like on the Alternative models? They look good from your photos. Alternative make their models in both resin and metal with the latter being ~25% more expensive. They claim the metal ones are much nicer. I am cheap so only ever bought their resin models. There are some issues with bubbles and small pointy parts in awkward places missing on some models. Others are just fine. Mold lines aren't too bad. I can live with these issues considering the price, easy to fill in or just ignore. (as a frame of reference for my expectation level: I've never understood the fire GW gets raked over for their finecast.)

strutsagget, loving the tree kin. The basing is excellent. Horace looking forward to seeing Mr Paunch finished. The hobgobs are quality. I always liked how they also gave them big hats.

Six brunttes complete - next up another six with mousy-brown hair this time. After that it's the black/grey/white hair to go. I should be able to get the hair and gems complete on Sunday, and make a start on the basing. By this time next week, I'm hoping to be onto my secret Happy Happy Happy project!

powering through, sedge! Really like these sculpts in muted colors. They don't look like they just hopped out of a video game.

Sorry, guys. This has been a hard month for me. Doesn't look like I'll be meeting any of my goals this month.
