Pre-thoughts: Still, need to handle the led belchers och make sure team up with the witches. Magic: Ogres had Fireball and Cascading Fire-Cloak. Dark Elves had 2x Doombolt, Soulblight and Word of Pain. Deployment: We rolled scenario 3: Battle for the pass, and think dark elves deployed first and Ogres got first turn.

Turn 1: Ogres: Charges No charges. Movement Mournefangs moved forward on the flank. Cannon moved forward into a great flank shot position . Cats moved forward blocking charges from DR. Ogres and Leadbelchers moved forward. Magic Think not much happened. Firecloak got off on the iron guts. Shooting Cannon took out two doomlocks but glad I passed look out sire roll on the sorceress. Leadbelchers took out some witches. Close combat: No combat. Dark Elves: Passed stupidity test. Charges No charges. Movement My idea was to bring sorc back in the middle as I find no good position around in the middle. Not sure this was a good idea. Also wanted to position my DR in a good feigned flight position. Magic Got off Word off pain on bs on the Leadbelchers. and doombolt was dispelled. Shooting Both bolt throwes failed to hit and the DR xbows only managed 1 wound on the cat. Close combat No combat.

Turn 2: Ogres: Charges Mournefang chared the witches. Ironguts charged the DR that fled. Movement Cat got into a new annoying position. Leadbelchers moved forward. The second cat sneaked up behind. Magic Cascading fire cloak got through and a fireball hit the second witch unit. Ruby ring of ruin killed some more witches... Shooting: Cannon misfired and faced the wrong direction. Led belchers shoot some more witches. Close combat: Mournefang annihilated the witches and overrun into second witches. Dark Elves: Passed stupidity test. Charges COKs charged the cat. Movement DR rallied and moved into a position to charge in the next turn. Doomlocks got into position for a charge next turn. Magic Didn't manage to get anything good off here. Shooting The shooting didn't do anything here either. Close combat Last witches were killed by mournefang and they reformed forward. COKs killed the cat and overrun into Ironguts flank.

Turn 3: Ogres: Charges Ledbelchers and cat charged the COKs. Mournefang charged the bolt thrower and passed scree slope dangerous terrain test. Movement Mournfang moved forward. Magic Maybe a fire cloak and it took out some COKs with unfortunate rolls. Shooting Cannon probably shoot something to death Close combat Mournefang made short work of first bolt thrower and then overrun into the second bolt thrower. My COKs got brutally slaughtered in the middle. Not sure but felt like impact hits and fire-cloak together with a challenge killed everything and I had no hits back. That left me with pretty no fighting unit left and I conceded.

Postgame thoughts: This game was brutal for the Dark Elves with heavy casualties in every phase Hard game to play and a good lesson on what happens if you lose the deployment and do too many random placements. Still a very fun game with loads of carnage. I should have placed COKs on a flank and I should have charged the cat with my DR on my first turn. Also positioned the doomlocks better and been a much more aggressive with more witches. Also, think its better to split magic units so sorceress should have been with the riders. Maybe no sorc and double doomlocks are better.

Nice report. The cold one knights just seem to cop it! Still, 1 - 1 at 1200 points sets up the trilogy I fricking hate Ironblasters. Evil things, I always try to kill them and do an internal celebration everytime they die.
