Here is the preliminary rules for the scenario.
Road Trip
2000 point Scenario.
The luxuries that are afforded those of noble birth in the Old World is the right to travel the lands from end to end. The sights to see are many as you travel from the Wasteland to the Badlands or from the Great Western Ocean to the World’s Edge Mountains.
As it happens, one such nobleman has put together a sizable retinue, that most would call an army, in order to protect himself, or herself as the case may be, as he travels the lands with hopes of regaling those at court of the regions he has explored and the artifacts he has discovered.
The Armies
Each player chooses an army from a Warhammer army list totalling 2000 points following the composition rules as laid out by the 8th edition rulebook. One character from the army will be designated as the “Road Tripper”. This does not need to be the general, as many a travelling nobleman has left those duties to someone of lower rank. The Road Tripper must, however, be in a unit, for what good is it to travel if one cannot do it in the presence of friends. The Road Trippers unit gains the (rule that allows the ignoring of rolling leadership to march within 8” of the enemy) rule.
The Battlefield
After deploying terrain as described on page 142 of the rulebook place 8 suitable markers in groups of two 18” in from each corner, making sure that they are outside of the deployment zone. These markers are where the Road Tripper is trying to “visit” during the course of the game. As the character reaches each destination he takes a marker to represent some artifact/proof that he has travelled to where he says he has been.
Deployment
Players deploy their armies as per the Battleline scenario as described in the Warhammer rulebook (p. 144)
First Turn
After deployment players will roll of to see who takes the first turn. The player who finishes deploying first gets a +1 bonus to the roll.
Game Length
The game will have a random game length of 6+ turns. At the end of turn 6 roll a die and on a result of 3+ take another turn. For each subsequent turn add +1 to the needed result to continue the game.
Victory Conditions
The victor is the player that has his character collect the most “artifacts”. If there is a tie, then use victory points to determine the victor.
Scenario Special Rules
You may only take one artifact from each location. These artifacts cannot be stolen or lost, for even if a nobleman is killed stories of where he has been and done will surely live on amongst those who were there.
