So, I'm looking for a good model to represent a human Ranger for D&D. Does anyone have any good leads on a model? I don't really think that Empire or Bret Archers will have the right look, and everything else seems to be more elf-like. I have been looking at the Middle Earth Rangers, but I'm just not sold on them. I was hoping that someone here might know of something.

Aragorn from the GW Fellowship set could make a good ranger. The ASOIF Ranger Hungers or Crannogman Trackers could be good. Not sure if those ASOIF minis have been released yet, though.

Reaper Minatures has a VAST array of D&D-suitable minis. I recommend checking out their website and seeing if anything catches your eye.

Hasslefree Miniatures do some decent "stock" fantasy characters, so are worth a look: www.hfminis.co.uk/ - their newer Fantasy range in particular is good, though for some reason they make several versions of each character in progressive states of undress, so don't browse while your wife or kids are around.

I'm not sure how you would find one but Apollo from mythic battles pantheon strikes me as being a ranger with his bow and is a pretty cool human sculpt.

Think the d&d models have very nice rangers. But not sure about sizes.

What about something from the Mordheim range? One of the Middenheimer champions below could work, with a little conversion work so they had a ranged weapon too: Or the Hunter - again you might want to replace the back poles with a longbow or something like that:

This is a Templar model but looks pretty cool and could pass as a ranger. Not sure who makes it though! pin.it/wge3mokaf6thus

I hate it when these painters picture models that are much larger than normal, without any context to be able to see the scale, KNOWING that people like us will think that they are simply a phenomenal artist for painting that much detail, at such a small scale.

Being a big fan of Nolzur's DnD miniatures and having bought 10+ I can vouch for them being roughly Warhammer scale. The heads/hands are smaller but they are 28mm and designed to be compatible with Warhammer. They come with mini/slight bases height wise but would look good on the standard Warhammer bases. Very well priced for the quality/durability. Mierce Miniatures also has some great human models which could make good rangers.
