Hello! I've just finished writing another battle report for my High Elves against a Lizardmen army. Comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Good report, and it looked like an enjoyable game. I wouldn't feel too bad about the mistaken fleeing for the Swordmasters - we all make mistakes, that's an easy rule to forget, and you couldn't have known the advantage it would eventually bring you.
Regarding the Dragon Princes, I think you should've armed your Noble with them differently - the Star Lance is great but a consistent strength bonus (Sword of Might/Ogre Blade) would be more useful to balance out the DP's puny S3 after the charge.

Yeah, I've been experimenting with a BSB equipped with the Ogre Blade and the Dragonhelm, he hits a bit softer on the charge, but has a 1+ armor and S6 in every round. Unfortunately the last time I fielded him my opponent killed him in the first round, but sometimes that happens. My Dragon Princes caught some Skullcrushers in the flank and my opponent knew the unit would be destroyed so he focused all attacks into my Noble.

Nice work in taking out the Slann. The Phoenix drowning in the swamp was pretty funny.
Very nice and detailed report with great pictures and illustrations.

grandmasterwang : All due respect but I didn't think it was funny at all! Those Fimir are horrible! In truth though it was very interesting, that was one of the most crucial terrain pieces I've ever seen in a game of Fantasy, it really impacted the game more than I think terrain normally does.

Fair play for fighting back after the initial disaster with the spear elves departing the field of battle. I think if I had been your opponent, I wouldn’t have been able to resist vanguarding up. Although it wasnt the best move great tactically, it was the threat of it that likely threw your initial game and resulted (together with the unlucky dice roll) of the spears making the early departure. That could have been enough to throw some opponents games completely off. Knowing you had the Cav on the flank I think he made an error not immediately moving the Skirmishers and steg over to threaten/protect that side. It looked a great game and one where you both were able to learn from it.

Thanks! It was a good game and I definitely learned from it! I need more counters to Stegadons. Covering the Lizardmen right a bit earlier could have helped, but the cavalry didn't end up doing much, the second Stegadon wasn't really needed and could have pushed into the center more. I think separating the Skinks and the Ancient so that I couldn't do the overrun would have been a significant improvement because the only thing that actually threatened the Ancient was the Princes on the charge.
