Pregame thoughts: His list looks pretty though but as always with OnG anything can happen. His magic is pretty strong and will force me to engage fast. But I guess I would be doing that anyway. I have no counter to regeneration trolls in this list so will have to make sure they go stupid somehow or just overwhelm with attacks. Dual pump wagon is just too cute and they might be my primary target for bolt throwers.

Magic Deployment We rolled battle for the pass and dark elves started deploying. Orcs and goblin got the first turn.

Turn 1 OnG Goblin animosity and they squabbled. No stupidity. Charges No charges Movement Savages and trolls moved forward. Snottling wagons moved in each direction. Magic I dispelled Hand of gork. Then a though decision came when he managed to get a fist on my sorceress carrying a ds. I finally settled on using my scroll. Shooting One rocklobber hit the witches and the other missfired. Close combat No combat DE No stupidity. Charges Warlocks charged the shuttling wagon. Movement I moved all forces forward trying to find any good future flanks. Magic Misscasted a soulblight that killed a warlock. And put if shade was dispelled. Shooting Managed to do a single wound on trolls with 12 shots. Close combat Warlocks killed the shuttling and overrun forward at least perfectly out of charge arc.

Turn 2 OnG No animosity or stupidity. Charges Trolls charged the witches. Pump wagon charged witches. Movement Savage moved forward. Magic Large Foot of gork went ballistic with killing almost all execution, then killing both bolt throwers and then stomped almost 50% of the goblins that fled. Shooting Stone throwers missed their targets. Close combat Witches and trolls went toe and toe killing two trolls but lost a lot of witches back. Pumpwagon did an impact hit and then were slaughtered by the witches DE Charges Last 3 executioners charged the trolls. Movement Warlocks took a position to charge warmvhins and the other behind the savages. CoK wheeled back in. Magic Soulblight was miscast again killing 3 warlocks causing a panic and they fled towards war machines. Shooting No shooting. Close combat Executioners and witches continued the battle. Leaving very few left.

Turn 3 OnG No animosity. Charges No charges. Movement Savages took a new position. Magic Foot of gork was dispelled. First killed some witches. Shooting Stone throwers missed. Close combat The last troll killed some more witches and executioners. DE No stupidity. Charges Warlocks charged the stone thrower. Movement warlocks rallied, witches moved back away from savges and tried to make the cold ones into future flank position. Magic Shooting No shooting. Close combat Single troll won combat. Warlocks killed stone thrower and overrun into the other war machine.

Turn 4 OnG No animosity Charges Savages charged the witches. Movement Troll moved away from charges. Goblins continued fleeing towards the edge. Magic He chooses to not do anything in magic phase as he had no good targets and didn't want a miscast. Shooting No shooting. Close combat Awful combat for the witches. A huge amount of wounds made but the lack of armor and ward saves only 4 savages died from 20 wounds.

Postgame thoughts: Another tough game for the Druchii. MSU is painfully hard and unforgiving. Started with scenario. I know the battle for the pass is though as it makes it hard for me to come around the flanks for multi charges. When Gork decided to steamroll and stomp the full board it went south quickly. With MSU you easily lose a full unit to a stomp. When I finally managed to do some wounds it felt like everything got saved. Still, a very fun slaughter with only the big uns savage orc deathstar more or less left on the table in the end

I think the new list with the flaming banner would've handled this much better, though as you said battle for the pass doesn't suit a speedy MSU approach, particularly with random movement chariots able to guard flanks. A pegasus master able to fly straight over them would've been useful.

The triple wizards have not paid out at all. And Turn 2 was brutal...

it is weird to see Ong having so few units, but it looked like a fun game.
The dark elf army looks nicely painted!
Cheers, WGG

Cheers, WGG Thank you, it's one of the few armies I can field fully painted Still, a lot left to paint though My opponent is actually a really good painter. Just he needs to find the mood. But think he recently found it again so looking forward to seeing the savages fully painted.
