Another month and we are half way deep into 2019. I pledge to start with my dark battle realm tiles. It’s going to be dark colors, black, brown ,grey and burnt gras. I also want to finish Orion, prophet on lamassu, some glade guard and scouts.

It's greenskins for me now - I want to get 20 Savage Orcs + a SO Boss complete. I think they should be relatively simple, so once they're done I'll either build some more Savage Orcs (I need 30 for my Riotville list) or start on the Snotling Pumpwagon. I also need to get the rest of the list primed.

I am aiming to finish my unit of ~30 Orc Boyz and the Forgeworld command to go with it.
I'm also wanting to prep my next projects for next month, stripping 2 Earthshakers and Azhag the Slaughterer (one of my favourite models)

Something to go with my Bleakswords from last month. I'm thinking harpies. A set from Avatars of War came in yesterday. I'm not settled on a color scheme yet. I think I'll try dark olive/light olive (similar to the bleakswords) and see how that looks. I wonder if I can do the cold, frosty look on top of that too. How about the gold and bronze for details? I hope I can transfer the army colors to the harpies without making it look forced. If not, I'll default to the typical ghoulish grey regime. Or, I could do the dark tan skin like the elves, which might make them look like creepy elf derivatives. This should be an interesting trial. I'll set a preliminary goal of 5, the minimum unit, and see how they fit in.

I'm thinking that I'm going to start focusing on one army a month for a while. I might add a random characters here and there from a different army, but my main push will be focused on one particular army. I think this month will be Wood Elves. I'll start with an Ancient Treeman and see how far I get.

I've been working on painting my kitchen and it has left little time for much else, but I did manage to get a base coat on this Archway and a little work toward on a Treeman.

I'll pledge a completed miniature for the tabletop for June. I'll pump something out this month.

I’m still on a Lizardman buzz. I’ll try and finish the 6 Krox that have been on my board for the last few months. Definitely struggling with them so expect a ‘that’ll do’ on them. I have also started the 2nd Carnosaur and the Basildon so you never know, they might make an appearance too.

Think I am close finish my battle realm with dark colors and burnt grass. Som patches to go back to and fix. Might go back and blend it with a second layer tomorrow if dried. I just look at this and sigh... I need to do this one day, but I'm dragging my heels. I just worry about putting a lot of time into a project like this and then not ending up liking it. I think yours looks awesome, btw. Have you made game surfaces before? What is your opinion on the durability of the fine turf surface? Easy to make surface repairs? (I'm sure there's a thread somewhere on the nuances of building gaming surfaces.) Personally, I keep going back and forth between pre-made game mats, and home crafted surfaces like this. I want to be able to slide a heavy tray of metal models across a surface without damaging it. I know I can be careful with the surface, but I can't guarantee other (younger) players will. But, game mats take away the flair of crafting your own models, which is one of the biggest draws of this entire hobby. Any thoughts?
