Terror says take a check or turn your reaction to flee. Random movement states you don't get a reaction. So if a hellpit or something else with both moves into you you just take the check at the beginning of combat like fear? Except it will affect things that cause fear?

Yeah, random movement makes terror a bit redundant...
Still causes fear in fear-causers (and makes itself immune to fear/terror). So not all useless.

Correct. Random movement does away with both Terror and charge reactions, as the "charging" happens out of sequence - as there's no actual charge declaration there's no terror test, and there's no charge reactions!
Fear tests are still taken as usual at the beginning of combat.
