I could make it Sunday morning if you are still looking for an opponent. That would be great. I have work Saturday so Sunday is perfect 2k or 2.5k?

Let's do 2k so we can actually finish the game. 25% lords and heroes.

Not quite sure how to get pictures onto this forum. Askaval and I had a fantastic game of Night Goblins vs Vampire counts.
Here's a batrep in a narrative format.
In a supreme fit of Hubris, Count Arnau,self-proclaimed count of Averland, sent his Lieutenant on a mission to retrieve one of the fabled Nine books of Nagash from [redacted], just South of the Badlands. Confidant that his spies had fed him the correct information, he sent a coven of Necromancers loyal to him to the edge of the border princes, in order to amass an army and prepare for the long march to ancient [redacted]. Commanded by Xaract the everliving, the coven of Necromancers began their march South. While en route to their assigned target, the Vampire counts encountered an unexpected foe. Rather than flee the terrifying forces of the Necromancers, like most of their cowardly race had before, the drunk and intoxicated Night Goblins, whose long night of partying and drinking had left them itching for a fight, were determined to stall the advance of the unliving.
Turn 1:Night Goblins Shockingly, the Night Goblin watchman was not sleeping on post, and was able to warn his friends of the approaching army.
Forces postured in preparation for the ensuing engagement. A single brick of Night goblins with their leaders and BSB were center, two Mangler squigs on the right flank, along with squig riders and a brick of archers, another brick of archers, a pump wagon, with squig horde were on the left flank. Vanguard forces were composed of Trolls, with artillery support from two doom diver catapults and a rock lobba. 4 shamans provided magic support
Turn 1: VC Forces began by marching to close the distance. Two 35 bricks of skeletons were on either flank of a 20 man strong group of zombies, who contained a lv 1 Necromancer, and Xaract the Everliving (Lvl 4/General). Terrorgheist, hexwraiths, and vargheists postured on the left flank, with another group of vargheists on the right flank. The chill fury of the dead coalesced in the form of a Mortis Engine, which postured directly behind the main battleline. The bloodcrazed vargheists flew forward, and the hexwraiths positioned to charge the squig riders, which ended the turn.
Turn two: NG No charges occured. Night goblin forces continued to close the distance. Artillwry fired upon the terrorgheist, dealing 2 wounds.
Turn two: VC Both groups of Vargheists failed their frenzy check. The group on the left flank slammed into the Mangler squig, perishing in a hideous explosion of slashing talons chomping maws, and blood. The hexwraiths charged the squig riders, who were promptly cut down to a man by the fell riders. The last man (goblin) survived by rolling a triple 6, outrunning the spectral hunters and fleeing through a group of archers. The right flank vargheists charged the pump wagon, anhillating the warmachine and drinking the stinking blood of the snotlings. They overran behind a tree, protecting them from the squigs. Vanhel's is cast placing the undead within range of the lunatic fanatics, who deployed to no effect, save for blocking charges.
Turn 3: NG Night goblins began catiously moving forward. The trolls charge the flank of skeletons, who braced for impact. Many skeletons were cut down, but the banner of eternal flame enabled the skeletons to cut down a troll. The night Goblin Shaman miscast Curse of the bad moon, which ripped apart the group of zombies, and wounded Xaract. However, the fell energies of the Mortis Engine caused the Shaman to lose his wizard level as the result of the miscast.
Turn 3: VC The Vargheists charged one of the doom diver catupults, but before the charge could be complete, fanatics sprang forth from the archer unit and wiped the vargheists to a man, but destroyed their own warmachine in the process. The Hexwraiths charged the archers on the right flank, who unleashed the fanatics in response, and then fled the field with the last squig rider. The terrorgheist flew high, and death shrieked the rock lobba off the board. Xaract cast Curse of years on the main group of night goblins, wounding the BSB and crumbling 11 goblins to dust.
Xaract, confident in his forces overwhelming truimph, moved to the high ground with one of his necromancers,to get a better glimpse of the carnage, a mistake that wound prove to be his undoing.
Turn 4: NG The main goblin battleline charged into the front of the skeleton horde, stampeding a fanatic in the process, and taking casualties accordingly. The squigs failed their animosity check, and failed to charge into the group zombies. The winds of magic were not with the Night Goblin shamans, who failed to dispel Curse of Years, which claimed another 15 goblins. The goblin archers, through the mercy of gork, or maybe Mork, managed to slay the last Vargheist on the left flank.
As the battle raged, the last remaining Goblin Doom Diver Strapped on his wings. Through the drug fueled haze, he could make out the silhouette of two robed figures on the hillside. He was prepared to slay the enemy general, he knew in his mind he was the hero his people needed, his whole life he had been preparing for this one moment. "Aim for the one on the left", said the artillery spotter. With a thud, the brave, stupid, and ultimately crazy goblin soared into the air. As he neared his target, a strong gust of wind knocked him off target (rolled an 8). He flapped furiously, trying to correct his course in time. Straining, the mighty arms of the little goblin began to take him towards his target (rolled a 6 for course correction). However, he forgot which way was left and which was right, slamming into the lv 1 necromancer, he was killed instantly, splattering Xaract with blood and body parts, but ultimately leaving him unharmed.
The night goblins finished the skeleton warriors, and overran until the Nightmarish Mortis Engine, only passing their leadership test by the skin of their rotting teeth.
Turn 4: VC
The terrorgheist postured for a rear charge on the goblins, and the zombies roadblocked the trolls, who had reformed after combat with the skeletons. The winds fizzled for Xaract and the remaining necromancer, who at this point had been arduously marching on the right flank to reposition for a charge.
Xaract believed at this moment that he had won. His fell beast swooped overhead, prepared to strike, reinforcements were coming, and his terryfing throne of bone and magic was poised to slay the night goblin horde. However, in a twist of fate, the night Goblin warboss managed to slay the corpsemaster who controlled the Mortis Engine. Unable to contain the dread energies, the Mortis Engine cracked apart. An ensuing explosion of raw death magic engulfed the field, slaying the remaining trolls, killing 10 Night goblins, blasting the Terrorgheist from the sky, killing six squigs, anhillating the group of zombies, and slaying all four Night goblins Shamans. Xaract was caught in the explosion and presumed to be dead. His absenced caused the undead forces to crumble, leaving only one necromancer and his unit of skeletons on the right flank. Curse of years claimed the life of another five skeletons and the BSB.
The Night Goblins engaged the skeletons, killing them in droves before they crumbled. The lone Necromancer fled, able to escape as the Night goblins were distracted by the gigantic mushroom shaped cloud that occured as a result of the Mortis Engines demise. He gathered the potent artifact from the wreckage of the Mortis Engine, and began his long, lonely march back to the dread realms of Sylvania.
Victory Night Goblins. Great game, and hoped y'all enjoyed the story. I wish I could show you the picture of the board after the Mortis Engine was destroyed. It literally nuked everything within 15 inches, and killed almost everything left. It was insane.

If we ever get that narrative campaign off the ground I'd love to see you as chronicler of the story.
looking forward to the next time!
