Hey Gents (and perhaps especially KevinC), Do we have more than 1 admin for this site? (Or someone else with the admin details?). I ask as a little while ago my first gaming clan lost access to our years old site for a while when our only active admin sadly passed away. I’m not wishing ill on anyone but accidents do happen and I want to ensure all the hard work put in on this site can continue. I’m also not necessarily volunteering, as technology isn’t my expertise (give me a spreadsheet and I’m your man) and giving someone the ‘keys to the kingdom’ definitely requires a degree of trust but I think it’s something that is worth considering. Anyway I thought I’d ask the question and see where it leads. (It maybe that you can easily see who the admin(s) are on the site and if you can, that just emphasises my lack of technology expertise 😉).

I've been concerned about this topic as well. Pretty much every other site like this has multiple admins or moderators.

Never really thought about this. I've been busy this year with wedding plans and a new house but want to get back into the hobby like I used to be.
I would happily volunteer as a secondary admin if that helps

I talked about this with Kevin earlier and I know he agreed that backup admins are necessary. Just think he needs help choosing someone. Isn’t that anyone close by that he game’s with? Or maybe just some moderators that didn’t need full access.

I've admined (non warhammer) sites before, but the hardest thing is knowing you can fully trust someone. It only takes one bad apple to kill the place off.
It'd make most sense to pick from the people KevinC knows in person as additional admin(s). For low-level moderator powers (moving stuff around, clearing out spambot posts) there's less potential for harm if access is set up right.

I agree with the statements above. The mods need to be trusted, limited access (but have the combined ability to take over the admins accesses in the case of a death, etc.), and there should be several in place with this access.
It would be nice to have admins/mods who are active on the site though. They really need to at least visit the site every day (if at all possible), even if they don't post anything. Nothing will kill a site faster than the people in control abandoning it. (This happened when the End Times hit and it became obvious that GW wasn't supporting Fantasy anymore. Many of those mods [even admins] simply disappeared and their sites were left to virtually rot.) I love this community and would hate for that to happen here.
We all have busy lives that can at times, spiral out of control with various things. But, even so, it doesn't take very long to stop in and check on the state of things. Whoever is named to these positions, need to be willing to do that. I'd even go as far as to suggest that anyone who fills that role needs to have God status. That shows a level of commitment that goes beyond just "being a member". It's not even that difficult to achieve. 500+ posts I believe?

Hi All, I agree with all the concerns. After strutsagget brought this to my attention, I added both TheREALricksalamone and dannytee to be administrators/moderators. Both of them are friends of mine and who I game with...however, I'm not so sure how much they visit. I visit frequently btw, though my work is very demanding so I'm not here as much as I'd like to be... I'm open to add more moderators, if you're interested in this state so in this thread. Also, admiral posted this thread EEFL Logo regarding an EEFL logo. I'd like to see a nice logo for EEFL, and perhaps someone that can better customize our forum. Is anyone interested in these things? Please post whatever your interested in doing...

Similar to Kevin I don’t make it here as often as I would like but at a minimum three admins can cover better than one alone.
