So, here we are at the end of 2019. Have you accomplished everything you hoped to get done this year? Well, we've got the rest of this month to finish before setting new goals for another year! Here's a few things I want to get accomplished this month: Gotrek GurnissonFlagellants (at least 10)Some Skaven and Grey Seer on foot4 Mournfang Slaughtermaster Anything else I can work in I even got started yesterday on Gotrek. This is my progress: I'm trying to bring him back to the original Gotrek from our world. It may not be 100%, but hopefully I'm getting close.

I will hopefully get a good way through my Lammasu and Bale Taurus and get a couple of banners done. I have been contrasting some Savage Orcs, Night Goblins and Squigs too so I expect this will run into next year

Good work with Gotrek. Mine is at a similar stage, though I completely replaced the axe-head and removed the chains from his wrists (so they just look like bracelets - Gotrek had lots of gold ones in the books). The scaly loin cloth can be turned into a tattered cloth one too, though it's a bit of effort. Looking forward to seeing yours painted up - it's too cold for me to prime stuff now, so mine won't happen this year.
With my assembly projects for November done, it's back to the Arachnarok for me, then some Spider Riders too if I have time.

It kinda tells a story for me. Something like he was captured by Skaven, broke loose and is cutting a muck, gathering all of his "stuff" back. Also lends some credence as to why he's holding up that Dwarven trinket. I dunno. Just my take on it. Too, the chain on his axe-arm is right up on the haft of the axe, so filing that off would be a labor of love. Also could leave a very thin connection point. Doable, but not too sure I want to even try it if it doesn't bother me that much.

Say, does anyone know what all those "spikes" are on the handle of so many Warhammer models? Nails? They look miserable. Like the wielder is trying to torture himself or something. And if they need grip, leather strapping seems MUCH more sensible.
I've always painted them with a metal color simply because I assumed they were nails, but I truly don't know. Most of the time I simply ignore them though.

Something for the painters to highlight, so it's not a plain flat surface, and maybe makes the model stand out a bit more? Now that you've pointed them out, I might go shave them off my version of Gotrek if I didn't already. Regarding removing the chain, it is possible, but also a massive pain. I did it, but it wasn't fun.

Wow. Mottdon, true to form, going strong right out of the gate. I want to make this a Deadcember. It's time to start a new army! Early days, I guess I will test out some paint schemes before going all in.

I'd like to finish my Eternal Guard unit that I've been working on for a while. 6 left. I'm a slow painter, but I think I can do it.

I've not been enjoying painting my Arachnarok - I'm not sure why, but it's just not a model my painting seems to be taking too. Nonetheless, I know the importance of perseverance, that if I keep going I'll get there in the end, and how crucial it is not to get distracted by other models - oh, wait: More photos in my O&G plog.
