I know whatcha mean, Sedge. There are some models that just get me bogged down and I don't want to continue with it. It can really turn you off to an army.

Nice flowers! (I have high expectations for your light council. Don't just use three clone troopers. Maybe one from the Luminark kit? Or metals? You got this). And I see your life and raise you two undead. The first of MANY.

That's a nice bone colour you've got there - what paints are you using for that?
Mottdon - love the life wizard, especially the detail you've got onto the pages of the book, and the flowers both on his cloak and the base.

That's a nice bone colour you've got there - what paints are you using for that? that's a good question and the answer is embarrassing. But, I know no shame so: I had twelve skellies, primed them all white, then played with contrast paints (skeleton horde, wyrdwood and fireslayer skin). I mixed the contrasts with agrax earthshade and nuln oil. All of this in different combination and ratios. I did drybrush with some off-white afterwards. And, these twelve look quite different but, I have no f@#$ing way to tell which is which, i.e. which is the winning combo. I will say that wyrdwood is too dark to be useful here, the other two are good (though if you only get one, skeleton horde is the most versatile) and mixing them with the washes did make a noticeable difference. My plan is to move forward with a mix of bone tones anyway for visual interest. I figure the necromancers weren't too picky, raising skeletons of different ages and from different soils.

I think a variety is good! I painted all my undead in the standard GW yellow-ish bone colours, and have to stick with that for the sake of consistency (I don't think variety works when you have several hundred already painted the same way!) but I like your whiter bone colour (particularly the one on the right of the photo) and the idea of some good variation, as the skeletons could have been raised from anywhere, and be of any age.

The horde grows. It might be time to think about adding a necromancer.

Looking good, Naitsabes!
Unfortunately, I think my posting is done for the rest of this month. Taptalk has said I've reached my free posting for the rest of the month. Their way of forcing me into buying a VIP membership. I don't even think I've posted that much. Just what's on here and my personal thread. Anybody using something else?

Imgur is the way I've gone - upload images to there, and embed them here.

Imgur is the way I've gone - upload images to there, and embed them here. Likewise. I occasionally use tapatalk for a quick from phone camera photo but otherwise I upload to imgur then copy the bbcode links

*Sigh* Yeah, I should probably go back to doing that. I just found taptalk so darn convenient.

I'm going to consider getting this tree ready for the battlefield a model. I'm very happy with how it turned out.
