Ended up not trying for 20 raiders but got 10 done and spent time progressing some ungors and beastigors. For today's game everything will be at least half painted which is nice.

I think strustagget has one of those mats. How was your experience? We're the models in danger of tipping at any point?

I think strustagget has one of those mats. How was your experience? We're the models in danger of tipping at any point? Good points: - no problem with single plastic models standing up, I worried about this but they did fine (mine were on 25s with small magnets so it's possible 20s without plastic would start to have issues?)
- being able to put stuff under it to make hills is great
- looks amazing
Bad points: - I did note some fluff coming off, I dunno if this is something that happens for your first few games then stops, or it will happen for the lifetime of the mat
- Using books to make hills worked well for the top of the hill but the sides being unsupported didn't hold models very well, carving some sloped foam hills to put under the mat would work better
- It is larger than 6x4 (i think it's 7x5 or something?) so you need to handle that however you decide to handle it (and if you cut it down to just 6x4 you couldn't do the hill thing)
- Rolling dice on it isn't fun. You need a dice tray or some other good place to roll. If you used big/heavy dice it'd be fine but for the smaller GW sized dice it just didn't really work
I'm probably not buying one right away (I have some neoprene mats) but I was very impressed and want one more now.

That mat looks amazing. I think I might still want to use separate hills based on plasticard for gaming purposes
Just been looking at getting them in the UK.. have you seen what the static grass one looks like? I'm guessing less impressive.

Okay, I'm going to throw some unpainted stuff up as I've been working on a few things. First, I'm not sure if I've mentioned here but I LOVE putting Warhammer Underworlds models on square bases. The models are great and full of character I mean look at these guys: On squares they go! There we have a Bray Shaman (not that I needed more) and a couple raiders. One of the ungors is going to be converted to make a Ungrol Four-Horn. Seems unlikely I'd ever actually use the guy but it'll be a fun small project. Plan for the bestigore is to put him on a chariot, ideally pulled by a razorgore, it's a pretty similar pose to the OG chariot bestigore so I think it'll be a nice throwback, and as the model is distinctive if I ever want to run a hero/lord on a chariot I can use that. I'm also thinking ahead past these goats and one project I may start as my next one (Skaven and VC also in the running) would be a Nurgle army. Goal would be to have 2500+ of daemons, 1000-2500 of mortals, run them mixed if my opponent is cool with it, pure if not. Most models will be GW but at this point it'd be silly to stick to them for daemons so I'm going to use this big boi as a Great Unclean one. I'm also pleased to say he has a butt worthy of nurgle - i.imgur.com/6HWW2tJ.pngLong weekend coming up, I'm hoping to finish up two blocks of infantry which are half-painted then move on to some minotaurs. Once those are done I'll be almost done which is pretty exciting.

Yet another great looking army here on EEFL.

Yet more beastmen, I now have a good stock of gors but think I should paint up the 20 or so more i have assembled in case i want to run a big block of them for core. I've also been doing some assembly/prep for future projects. Some "chaos ogres" for WoC: Daemon Prince and Great Unclean one for Nurgle daemons And some bases of nurglings, the big "towers" of them are going to become unit filler but I like the look of these bases a lot more for swarm units

Well, these were kind of a slog but I'm very happy to put them behind me. They take me to 125 painted models for the army and cross the 100 point feels good/significant. I have 12 ungors, 11? minotaurs, some monsters, and a couple more characters to finish up, then I'll move on. I'm hoping to finish the minos this month but don't know how long they'll take to paint. Full army shots once that stuff is ready.

Very nice! I love my bestigors, they die in droves but they kill a lot on the way out. What models are you going to use for the minotaurs?

Just the GW ones, if I'd not had 10+ of them when the Twisted Catacombs KS was on I'd have loved to go in on that. But as I've got these warcows I might as well use them. I do have a couple Zealot minos on the way for various uses, going to use their warlord as a doombull, their sleeping mino as filler, and the undead one for another project. I'm also planning to get the new Warcry minotaur and convert him with wings as a flying doombull who will look kinda daemon princey.

Family photo of the stuff I have done. Certainly going to need a second shelf for these guys. Also more prep work for Nurgle, planning to rely on washes/glazes to add color to them. Hope to get the army to tabletop really quickly once I start on them. Still waiting on some more stuff in the mail.

Few more guys done. For now I'm going to say I'm done with infantry. I have some more gors, and I'd like to do a small unit of non-shooting ungors, and if I can find the sprue I'll do 10 more bestigores. But I think I have enough infantry to get by, I have some stuff for filler coming in and once I have that I think I should be able to run whatever I want in terms of gors/beastigores. So it's on to monsters and minotaurs, with a few characters to finish up. Also I'm going to start on the nurgle stuff soon, I'm hoping it paints up really quickly.
