Wow, the artillery fortification bases are stellar! Simple build, but to some of the best effects I've ever seen. Also, lovely image with those whitemetal miniatures yet to be painted in the background. I have all the chaos dwarf models from your store. They are some of my favorites. Is Fuggit Khan working on anymore? Cheers! Not at the moment that I know of (I know as much of his progress as everyone else who follows his CDO army log - so he could potentially have something secret in the works as we speak), but I'm sure he'll catch the big hat itch soon enough. He's living a life of relaxed retirement down south, and occassionally sculpt new Dwarves of the Dark Bell Tower miniatures whenever the call of the bull god rings out.
When he was moving to Thailand, he said that he had to part with his hobby tools for the sake of the move. So I bought tools and materials (and surströmming, höhö) för over €200 and posted him them quickly. I'm happy he's making good use of the care package.

Awesome, Fuggit definitely put them to good use. Here is the last of the artillery emplacements that Im working on. I made them out of aluminum tig welding wire and 20 gauge aluminum jewelry wire.

I have always liked loved artillery. One day while perusing the internet I stumbled upon pictures of the Tsar Cannon in Moscow. It is an enormous bronze cannon and it reminded me of the siege cannon from the storm of chaos campaign book. The artwork shows the defenders of Middenheim defending the wall surrounding the city. In the background there is a huge cannon being loaded by ogres. Anyway I found this on Ebay and will on day use as my siege cannon.

I’m betting that you already have plans, but for those wooden fortifications, a quick once over with a blowtorch followed by a rubbing with boiled linseed oil (AFTER IT COOLS!) would really give it a rugged yet finished look. It’ll take a couple days on the shelf to fully cure, but will bring out the natural wood grain

That's some good advice there! I'd like to see results of that.

Quick update, the weather in Ohio is kind of crappy right now so Im going to be focusing on cleaning and basing my models for awhile. Ill post pictures as I get them done. Its not exciting but it will keep me motivated. Here is whats been assembled so far, 50 Halberdiers, 50 archers, and 25 huntsmen.

They look amazing. Are there official rules for artillery in entrenchments or will you just house rule them?

Wow that is a pretty penny's worth of metal Empire! Your fortifications are fantastic too! Looking forward to seeing them all painted

Bit of a thread derail so apologies in advance but do you live anywhere near hocking hills state park? I came across photos of it the other day and wondered if it was as amazing as they make it out to be!

I live about two hours north of Hocking Hills. It is really a beautiful place especially during the fall when the leaves start to change color. I rented a cabin one summer and took my family, if you get the chance to go I highly recommend it. Weekly update, I got three units assembled this week, two blocks of handgunners and a halberdier unit. The standards aren't glued yet. It will make it easier to paint them later and Im pretty sure I'm going to shorten the poles as well. Im also trying to vary the commands as much as possible. The handgunner champions are mordheim figures. The standard bearers are artillery crewmen and a halberdier. The drummers are old 46 villagers. There were two varients of the drummer one with and eye patch and the other with both eyes.

We had a little ice storm last night and I took the day off. Had the opportunity to convert a few command models. My goal is not to have too much repetition in the command groups but with only two different metal musicians and standard bearers Im going to have to get creative.
