A fantastic new tournament organized by the one and only rahotep75 in Bethlehem PA approaches and we're playing open lists this time and lists have been submitted so I wanted to share my list below. Now 2 items I should mention:
1 - The lists are submitted so feedback adn changes, while of course welcomed, cannot be done. It is what it is at this point.
2 - If you see by my army selection (Tomb Kings) and composition, I'm likely not going to win. But I'm there to have fun.
On to the most powerful list, maybe ever assembled!
Liche high Priest
Lvl 4, Channeling Staff, Talisman of Preservation
Lore of Neherkara
Liche Priest
Lvl 2, Dispel scroll, ruby ring of ruin
Lore of light
Tomb Prince
Armour of Sivlered Steel, GW
Necrotect
Glittering Scales
20x Skeleton Archers
5x Horse Archers
30x Skeleton Warriors, spears & LA
3x Chariots, Banner of Eternal Flame
1x Khemrian Warpshinx
3x Necropolis Knights STD, Musician, Entombed
30x Tomb Guard w/Halberds, Standard of Undying Legion, FC
2x Tomb Scorpions, Entombed
1x Casket of Souls
The idea behind this list is essentially have 4 "strong" items: Tomb Guard that hopefully never die with the standard and can hit hard with Str5, WS5, the Sphinx itself ( T8 monster with Thunderstomp), my magic phase and perhaps to a lesser degree my Entombed army that can pop up anywhere. I recognize I don't have much chaff, which might be a problem if I need to re-direct deathstars. Horse Archers can do that, Scorpions can pop up and do it too if need be, and Skeletons are there to meat shield. I also don't have a catapult, though I own them, I chose not to bring them and bring the scorpions instead. I've had the catapults miss an entire game and do literally nothing, so at least a Scorpion allows for SOMETHING. But, they could also not show up at all, and I don't have much to counter big monsters.
A couple of items in case you're wondering:
- I modeled my Skeleton Warriors when I got them with Spears, and while now I would prefer HW/S, I'm too much of a WYSIWYG to do that. Also, I'm adding LA even though it does nothing, because I needed to hit 625 core points.
- In regards to my magic phase, I'll have up to 9 spells to choose from after adding casket spell, standards, bound items etc. So my tournament will likely go the way my magic phases go.
Unsure of opponents, but there's always an Empire, a couple of High Elves, and some Warriors of Chaos players there. So all points to going 0-3, but you never know!
