in my view of Bretonnia, the knights are either retainers/household knights of some sort and hence wear the same colors (but then should also have the same heraldic symbol). Or each knight could be a little hero on his own and have his own heraldry (but then also his own colors). you are going against my grain here with your own vision. what's your thought process on the knights' background?

Yeah, I see the army as a low-fantasy military force. I'm fixed on the same color throughout as I want them to look like a proper army. Regarding the knights, I guess they've adopted the colors of their mercenary army while retaining the animal devices of their household, etc. I suppose my choices here are mainly for the aesthetic reasons. I want my knights to look questionably sinister.
