Greetings and fair meeting one and all, another army blog this way comes! I continue to disappoint myself with my lack of talent, or rather, the lack of patience to utilise what talent I have fully. Each army I paint has begun with models I am pleased with, however as each army progresses I try to get quicker... Lose focus on the details and rush units to completion, cutting corners along the way. Then I look back on the army and feel nothing but disappointment and dissatisfaction. I am adamant this will not be one of those. Relatively low model count will help with this, as will the points sunk into characters and larger models, on which I feel I have slightly more going for me. This is the beginning of an all mounted Knights or Morr force, which may or may not later expand into some kind of Witch Hunter's standing army 🤷 A test model first of all, a steed for a grandmaster. Subtle black highlights and deep reds, with some extra details in the socks of the horse and the transfers on the armour. This is probably the 'top end' of my abilities... I'm pleased with the transfers, 2 Sisters of Battle transfers smashed together to make some kind of design, came out ok So, the beginning is here, will I stand by my word and keep a steady pace on this? Only time will tell!

A good start for sure. I really like the use of decals on the horse armour, never thought of that! Wondering who the rider will be, as there was no official Knight's of Morr Grand Master as far as I can remember.

Wondering who the rider will be, as there was no official Knight's of Morr Grand Master as far as I can remember. You're right, there wasn't, it'll be the *Old* Kurt Helborg... He holds a runefang, and I wanted a winged helm which that model does. I think it's old enough that with my own colour scheme on him he'll look unique enough 👍 My BSB will be an old metal Karl Franz, again with minor conversion and my own paint scheme I'm hoping he'll look unique enough

Great start. good colors, neat decal. To de-Helborg old Kurt, you could snip off that staff of command and give him a shield. would also go better with GM equipment. depends on how feel about chopping up old models. Keep it coming.

So a little WIP to fill the air. A very minor, weapon clip and a different paint job for this classic Karl Franz. Wearing the black armour of the Knights or Morr, this guy with eventually hold the army banner in his right hand A nice, tabletop standard paint job so far. The photography takes some of the subtlety out of the highlights, but you get the idea... Right? Just the feathers to do, then a little touching up 👌

I think the BSB is done now, or at least, as much as I want to do. I am, as ever, my worst critic...and I'm not incredibly keen on the banner - the reapers face, the fact the reapers hourglass looks like champagne flute, the blank spaces, the wings... But, I could keep fiddling with it forever... It looks ok from arms length, better from tabletop to eye, and it alludes to the official banner at least minimally. Thoughts, opinions, feedback and criticism please!

Great seeing the old models getting some paint on.

neat painting. Here I was thinking I'd seen it all when it comes to Empire minins and then somebody converts the Emperor himself into a standard bearer...
You are doing a great job on the faces, really like the gentle shading.
As far as feathers go, I think Kurt's dark brown is a bit much since there is quite a bit of black already on these models. So I like Karl's light feathers better and would keep as is.

Finished a converted Pegasus with death wizard... Such a cute, chubby little mage, lovely pose Also finished these guys off with some very basic basing ✌️

A little WIP here... Done the Hurricanum from plastic sprue to this over the weekend... I honestly haven't enjoyed this model... As you may have noticed from this and my previous blogs, I am very much stuck in the middlehammer period, where models were a little... Simpler. This model however is just *so* busy, there are details on every surface both top and bottom of every piece... It's just too much! Oh well, it's coming along well enough, lots of tidying up to do mind you Also, cute little earth on the top here

This is finally completed, feels like it's sat on the table for a while The wagon itself is still a little... Rough. I felt the last point I reviewed the wagon (in the last post...) Everything was too new ... To shiny... So I wanted to grime it up a bit. So, the wagon here is after an all over heavy wash of one of the dark brown contrast paints, which was then dabbed/wiped off the raised areas. A little highlighting was then added back in though this feels lost in the pictures. It's certainly brought the tones down, which was the intention, but it has also made it look a bit messier which wasn't... The crew and steeds are painted normally though, which helps to bring it up a little, and as a whole from arms/table length, it looks fine 👌

Small amount of progress... 2 classic 'knights of the white wolf' metals that will be pressing service as my mounted warrior priests... Being the only hammer wielding guys, and the only ones with fur cloaks, I'm hoping they stand out clearly enough These are tabletop standard only, but I'm trying to get all the eyes done, and honestly I think the faces came out ok here... And a little group shot, feeling these and liking how they're coming together
