Did they really get rid of Slaanesh in Age of Sigmar?
Well, that might be what you'll hear from GW Corporate, but...
"The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist."
I am lucky that all of us here, we all want to keep laying Eighth Edition, where Slaanesh is one of the true four ruinous powers.
Did they really get rid of Slaanesh in Age of Sigmar? And replace him/her with the Horned Rat?
Sorry, I haven't bought the AoS books and reading supplements yet. And, TBH, I probably won't.
WE'VE BEEN SUPPLANTED BY AN OVERGROWN RODENTIA
This all brings me to me reason for posting: Revising the 8th Edition WoC Lists.
And not just for Slaanesh.
For example, Daemons of Tzeentch have excellent shooty abilities.
Is there any value to giving Warriors of Tzeentch missile weapons like bows and crossbows?
It has always bugged me that Warriors get no missile options.
That said, I would NEVER take crossbowmen in a competitive list, but it would be cool for a fun game or a thematic army list.
No cannons. Maybe bolt throwers?
Warriors of Chaos have a very real world need for siege engines.
Not an IN GAME NEED, rather, just over the course of a three year campaign, Warriors need:
Battering Rams, Trebuchets, Ladders, Big Onagers, etc.
PLUS, I kind of think these would look cool on the battlefield.
I think it makes sense to continue to say Khorne gets NO missile and no siege weapons at all.
Bolt Throwers seem Tzeentchian. Firing bolts of change and all that.
"Stone Throwers" seem Nurglish. Lobbing infested putrid sacks over castle keep walls.
Chariots seem a natural ft for Slaanesh.
For Slaanesh I'd love to design rules for some sort of [non OP] Cauldron of Blood Type thing.
Yes, a wicked looking unit filler, but also with in-game rules to make Warriors more Slaaneshi.
ALSO,
Now that we're considering how to tweek and making lists to fine tune 8th...
Am I the only one that dislikes the Mark of Slaanesh???
It's OK. Not as good as Nurgle, which is the BEST in my opinion.
The Mark of Slaanesh specifically says it makes unit/model immune to Fear, Terror and Panic.
This is NOT regular Immune to Psychology. This does have the benefit of letting our Marauder Horsemen CAN choose to flee.
Overall, the MoS seems to fix a problem that doesn't really exist.
My army happens to have a LOT of humans, i.e. Marauders. LD 7. I try to keep them in the General and BSB bubble.
But, I can't think of more than a few times where they have ever panicked.
And I am not sure that it's worth the points to put the MoS on human tiered Warriors (i.e. Marauders).
I'll post more ideas as I have them today.
