The Musician on the right? He looks a bit different, but they all do look quite uniform. I've heard very mixed opinions on the contrast paints.

Here's a few more Skeletons that I had sitting on my desk and I decided to throw some paint on the to see how well the contrast paints did. I have them a Wraithbone base and used Skeleton Horde and Talassar Blue. Only one is done using my normal methods. Can you pick it out? Regardless, I think it's pretty close. I'll probably use it with the rest of my rank and file troops. Fascinating! ....as if you need any help painting things quickly haha. Also, the wraith looks great.

very cool. It's great to see these new guys fitting on 20mm bases so well (or did you have to reposition some limbs etc?)
The blue is striking and certainly makes the unit cohesive. I just can't completely shake the little voice of reason in the back of my head that is wondering how these centuries old fabrics held the color so well. I am planning on starting an undead army next year so I need to work this out for myself. First world problems!

I am planning on starting an undead army next year so I need to work this out for myself. First world problems! Glad you like them! No, they didn't need any limb repositioning. They needed a few slotted bases, and I found that the diagonal slots worked better than the horizontal slots. As far as the coloration goes, I already tried the faded, tattered look (just check out the first few pages in this thread) and it just felt very lackluster for the amount of work put into it. They are already dusty, sand colored, so making their rags look faded, left nothing standing out. No fun to look at. I suppose you could say the liche priests cast a spell on the army, protecting their army colors. Sure. We'll go with that. It is fantasy after all.

That's my in head reasoning for the beautiful blue colour holding so well. When people called Settra the 'Imperishable' they were talking about his fabric colour!
