Having read a bunch of posts from others that seem to struggle finding motivation to paint and inspired by some other forums I thought it might be fun for us all to start up a monthly painting challenge. Nothing too serious, just a chance for us all to get together and put something out there on the web in writing what we hope to accomplish. I'm hoping that we can help motivate each other to keep those [painted] collections growing!
I'll start us off:
For the month of May 2017 I hope to completely finish a unit of 20 skaven slaves. I've just started painting my skaven so I don't know how long it will take me to paint these models, but if I find myself with extra time then I'll adjust my goals accordingly!
Your turn everyone! Share with the rest of us what you're working on (pics encouraged) and what your goal is!

This month I hope to put the finishing touches to my latest batch of Chaos Dwarf Axemen (should be simple enough they are almost done) and get my 10 Dire Wolves finished for my Undead. Anything else after they are done is gravy

I got a bit of a painting session in last night after football so this is where I am at Chaos Dwarfs mostly done, need to retouch their faces where I made a mess. Need to decide what I am going to do with their bases Started slopping on the rough base coat on my Dire Wolves I have speed-painted a few Chaos Warriors to have a look at the colour scheme. I will be going for a generic brass type colour scheme and the marks will be differentiated by magnetised standards and unique old school champion models for each god. I will be testing out which wash I like best, the verdigris & how well they paint over (I won't be stripping these). The old monopose models were very red, as was the style Took some painting over

Nothing too ambitious for me: Just finishing up 3 more silver helms at the moment . Goal will be to finish the last 4 to make the regiment shine!

Good idea. We urgently need a painting pledge to motivate us up. My May pledge would be these 17 Marksmen of Miragliano. Fail that and a full 32 of Republican Guards next month

Yep, the old models are so good, they looks even gorgeous in basecoating. The Marksmen have the honor to be GW's most diversely posed metal regiment ever with 12 for just normal rank-and-file and 3 for command. I still miss the models number 10 and 11 sadly

I still miss the models number 10 and 11 sadly Most of the Dogs of War models are fantastic I agree - easily bunched in the upper ranks of the better ones that they have done over the years. I can't decide which is my favorite : Golfags Ogres too jeez! I loved it when these guys showed up in battle reports in White Dwarf. They really should have had a halfling unit of some sort available for the Empire in 8th damnit.

Yeah I agree about halflings in Empire. You could always pick some up and use them as Huntsmen although it doesn't really do them proper justice. I loved in 4th/5th how empire could take Ogres, Dwarfs & Halflings etc, really reflected the diversity of the Empire

I solemnly swear to paint no more than 5 State Troops and 3 Goblin Spider riders until June. (Reverse psychology) Looking forward to see the results of your pledges, gents! Really nice model choices above.

Looking too nice for slaves. By the way, now I realize I may bite more than I can chew, but let's see.
