That is the gyro model I've spent about a year trying to paint as I'm just so uninspired by it. Doesn't help that it's finecast. I wanted to also get one of the older ones too so I had one from each generation.

I'll most likely just end up using it for terrain. I'm not a fan of the model at all.

Yeah, I have two of those and two of the new ones. The new ones are MUCH more sturdy. One of the old ones is pewter and the other is finecast. The metal one was waaay too heavy and I had to get creative with it's base. The finecast is just so dang delicate that its at risk of breaking every time I use it!

Only reason why I don't have any would be my army is older generation models and I'm not really a fan of the models. That said, if I did invest in some I'm sure they would most certainly be a auto include

Damn youse guys (shakes fist), I've only had to go and order another gyro now. I may have to build it as a bomber though just for variety or see if it's possible to magnetise it as both (I saw something like that on eBay ages ago though not sure if I have the skills to do it!).

Yeah, I'm not sure if that's possible either. I think that both options might use some of the same parts. I could be mistake though. It's been a while since I made either.

Nice! So it looks like it's possible, but it just requires choosing which version gets the pieces that are on both versions. They don't really look all that critical to the aesthetic. One thing I would be wary of and I didn't see him address, is the flight stand. It looks like its connected at a point where you'd swap the versions out. If that is the case, you might have to drill another connection point on the body of the cockpit. Just something to look out for.
I might just go ahead and get out my Gyrocopter that I still have in it's box and make it this way. I was going to just do a second Gyrobomber since I already have 4 Gyrocopters, but I like the idea of swapping out the swivel guns on the front as well.

The bomber connects to the flight stand in the same place as the Gyrocoptor so no issue there, I think it's just the angle of the photos

You guys have inspired me to play with my Dwarves tonight! I was planning to hold off on them for a while as the painted units that I have aren't what I want ideally in a list but now this conversation has me wanting to play them anyway!
Here's the list:
Lords:
Daemon Slayer w/ASF,+1A,Double S against T5 opponents
Heroes:
Thane BSB with the standard that gives Ward Saves to everyone
Engineer
Runesmith General with double dispel rune
Core:
2 units of 25 warriors w/ hw&shield
2 units of 10 thunderers, champ has double pistols
Special:
Cannon w/ rune of forging,burning
cannon w/ rune of forging
20 hammerers with give everyone stubborn banner
Gyrocopter
Rare:
2 Gyro bombers
1 organ gun w/rune of accuracy
The plan:
use gyros to soften up enemy units then sacrifice themselves to buy me more time to shoot.
Daemon slayer targets monsters/chaff that come too close
Hammerers flank while warriors anvil. Cannons are for monsters,chariots, counter-battery fire, and deep infantry units.
Should be fun!

Do people think Grim Burlockson is a good addition to these guys? I'm thinking the ability he gives to reroll missed hits would make them VERY effective...
