Some time back, I was a little worried about some of my favourite tactics documents disappearing, especially after Warseer went down and the migration of Asrai. As such I started to copy the contents of threads and blog posts to word documents (complete with Links and names of authors). I have uploaded the first of these documents, covering dwarf tactics, to drop box today for members of this forum to download (if they feel it is useful). I'll add others, as and when I get round to it. Not having used drop box before, I hope the link is working, let me know if it isn't. I will apologise as they aren't particularly well formatted as were done for personal use. EDIT: I'll add links to this post that others put in the thread. EDIT 2: I've moved the document links to the race specific folders Note: in the Beastmen document, the 3rd article by Azeebo has some spot on character builds in it and there aren't many of his general character and unit observations that I disagree with. These look absolutely fabulous. Do you have any for giant sized people (above 4 feet) ?

i have 2 others but they need quite a bit of work and don't nearly cover items as in depth and that is for wood elves and Beastmen. I do have a gizillion links in my browser for other armies but need to go through the laborious task of extracting the articles.

I think Beastmen has the highest priority then

And, yes, these are GREAT! There are a lot of famous (within Warhammer Dwarf community) names in there too. They've been bearded folk for years and years. They really know what they are talking about. Man! Seeing this takes me back!

These kinds of things are handy to have on hand when branching out into new armies for the first time. I spent a lot of time on theunderempire when I was list building for skaven trying to understand their strengths/weaknesses. I also did the same thing for my dark elves over on druchii.net.
That's how I came across the 5 slaves per 100 points and the 10 bodies per 100 points guideline. Great advice for when building a skaven army!
If these things could be found in one place that would be great. Until I start getting games in with my skaven and dark elves it's all theoretical/gleaned from fighting them with my WoC.

Thanks for pulling this together, knoffles. Certainly would be useful to have this for all the armies eventually.

Updated with the Wood elf document v.1. I will say that the Bugmans is hands down the best organised of the forums for these tactica docs, mainly as several on that forum have already gone through the effort to document them all and then pin it for ease of finding it. So basically that will be the biggest of anything I upload. There is one further thing I wanted to add to the wood elf doc and that is a spreadsheet comparing the arrows and when is best to use them (something by Brechtomme - link below). The issue I have is the links aren't working on the page (probably due to the move from it's own site onto the darkelf one) and due to the lack of activity on the site, none of the admin have approved my request to join so I can't message him to request a copy. So if anyone has a login to the Asrai site and could PM him, it would be really appreciated. Enchanted Arrows - What do I choose

I have a login to the Asrai site, but it's been ages since I was on there. Even before the End Times hit us, there was little to no activity there. I would post something and was lucky to see one reply. Even then, it was mostly critical. I didn't like it there. I can try, but I doubt that I'll hear anything.

Have you been to the Lustria Online site? That is pretty much the only other site I visit anymore. They are all still VERY active there and so friendly! The site is amazing as well. Very user-friendly. I'm almost certain that they'll have something like this on there. I'll check with them for Lizardmen.

I might take a crack at writing one of these for Tomb Kings. It might not be great - but with y'all of you here to help and provide input... we could do it!

Who wrote the Wood Elf guide? First off - - - a full page on the Hail of Doom Arrow? Way Cool! (skip to page 26)
Quote: "At the end of the day the HODA is a 30 point magic item that looks far better on paper than it preforms on the table." Strongly agree.
This is great stuff! You're making me want to paint and play Wood Elves again. I am still painting orange beastmen from now until eternity... but, maybe, the ELVES are next.

The articles are from various people from various sources and I've just put them into one document with the links. The arrows articles are done by a former New Zealand player/blogger who is now trying to make it as a fantasy writer (after he had switched to kings of war, like most of the NZ and Aus player base). mottdon, if you could that would be fantastic but I'm not holding high hopes. I did almost include a breakdown of the woodelf book, in the doc', from the lustria site but the breakdown wasn't quite detailed enough for my liking. Conversely, the Beastmen doc I'll upload is basically two army book reviews but with extras (builds etc). The difference is the reviews are made after 100s of hours of play rather than theory hammer of when the book first came out.

Yeah, theory hammer and actual play are two vastly different things. I think a LOT of people usually just toss around theory hammer because that's what they've read.
For example, most of my 9 years of experience has been with Empire. They've always been my go-to as far as armies and the one that I know the best. Most people will tell you that you should take the Lore of Light with Empire because it has so much synergy with them, it's the cheapest to cast, etc., but in my experience, it has never benefitted me much at all. Once in a blue-moon has something worked out well, but usually it's just no help. I don't have anything against it, but I just prefer other Lores. (My favorite for Empire are Heavens, Beasts, and Life. Depending on your opponents.)
