Hey all! I was working on an optional army book for fielding humans from the Isles of Albion. I'd love to be involved in more mainstream projects here, so I'll be using this thread to work on, discuss, and review my army book to get the skill and experience to be of use on the core races down the line! I'll post more as this develops; I just learned of this forum today and am, more than anything, just excited to be part of a community dedicated to preserving 8th Edition Warhammer.

I have a 74 page PDF of an Albion army book, by By Mathias “M4cR1II3n” Eliasson. Yes, that's who I was referring to in this thread: eefl.freeforums.net/thread/59/thoughts-blogspot-site-army-booksI'd wanted to see the reaction people had towards his books before bothering making my own, basically. No point in pouring hours of blood, sweat, and tears into a new army book when one's already out there and people love it. There's some things I'd change based on my own vision for the island, but I'd prefer some feedback on his work first. Currently, no thoughts on it as no one has replied. As an aside I personally emailed Matthias to let him know of this forum, see if he'd pitch in. He seemed semi-impressed, and mentioned the possibility of dropping by to get feedback on future rulebooks he works on.

I know I'm necro-ing this thread, but I only joined a few months back. His books are very well done (and probably look more swish than anything I could ever do given that I use Microsoft Word) but in my view I think his idea of Albion is wrong. He's gone further into the Pictish/Irish side of Celtic history and mythology that most people believe is the full extent of Celtic culture, whereas I prefer the Ancient Britons/Gauls, i.e. Halstatt and La Tene culture, and have been working on a book more closely themed around them. Haven't thought of any named characters myself, but admiral has found an artist on Deviantart who has an idea of Albion much closer to my preference: eefl.freeforums.net/thread/1311/albion-concept-artwork-matthew-klaasThere are still a couple of Pict influences there (the hillforts have brochs rather than roundhouses) but the nature and aesthetics of the characters are much more what I had in mind. In fact I would consider writing rules for his named characters as part of my unofficial Albion book.
