It occurred to me that members of EEFL might want to discuss other games and to do so they have to go to another board. While this is all fine, I thought it would be a good idea to create another category where players can discussions other games, including Age of Sigmar.
If this proves popular we'll create more sub-boards (for example, a Kings of War board, etc.).

Oh joy, I can imagine the future veteran talks regarding this category... Though being called a heretic is marginally better than being called a brain-dead toddler I suppose.... Oh well, I play what I enjoy. [Edit] sorry for sounding negative there, I am glad that the forum is expanding it's interests like this. So thank you, KevinC. A interesting sidenote that 8th and AoS players will both like is that the recent fluff book for AoS gives strong indications for a Sigmar model on the horizon.

Well, Baron, keep in mind the whole point of this forum to the dedication of the Warhammer 8th edition. That's why I rather like the title: 'Discussions for Heretics'!

It's perfect. It says "by all means discuss other things, but know that the inquisition may be amongst you"

I also think the title is hilarious, but I have been known to have a strange sense of humor.
And I should add that I am interested in a number of games besides 8th edition fantasy (although fantasy is defiantly my main game).

Honestly, it's really, REALLY hard for me to shift gears and start other games. I've never been very good at that. Typically, I jump into one game with both feet and sink or swim. That's why I don't start very many games.
That being said, the only other table top game I've ever really played and kinda was a good segway into Warhammer was Heroclix. I love me some superheros. That was a great way to play with the characters that I wanted to in fun scenarios. I haven't played in years though. I have thousands and thousands of figures in plastic boxes stored in my attic. It's probably been 5 years since I did anything with them.

That's an impressive list Anton. I really don't own minis for other games. I am a pretty slow painter and enjoy ever expanding my warhammer armies so never really found time to collect much else. I did own a kroot army for 40k and also a small amount of space marines but have traded off both of those. I have played Mordheim using my warhammer minis. I have also played a bit of warmachine using friend's armies and more recently kings of war, again using my warhammer minis.

I had Eldar and Ork 40K armies, Orks Epic miniatures (finally some Titans) and that's it for wargames. Sold all of them to a mate of mine. Boardgames such as Descent, Castle Ravenloft and Wrath of Ashardalon provide me with miniatures that sometimes end up on the table, usually as Ogres

Frozenfood, how is Castle Ravenloft? I was tempted to buy this when it came out...is it a good game? Fun? Thoughts about it? Thanks.

I actually like it a lot, me and my wife have boardgame night every wednesday and we've played 9 scenario's so far. Don't expect too much since the mythology of Ravenloft is kind of slaughtered (the entire point of the books is that nobody knows that Strahd is evil and that he cannot be killed) and it's like 4th edition on a board but it if fun. I like the different scenario's, sometimes you have to guide an innocent werewolf out, sometimes the board starts with 4 edges and it becomes a labyrinth to the center. The rules are easy and it doesn't take too long to set up (looking at you, Andor) There are two other versions (Wrath of Ashardalon and ) but I like the monsters in Ravenloft better. Oh, and evil wolves with the special attack "pounce"? Hilarious!

For me it's Heroquest and Advanced heroquest (they got me into wargaming). Bloodbowl (what can I say but love it). I do have a Space Marine army but mainly as I really like the dreadnought models. Barely use it (though may dust it off with the new edition). And I've been trying out kings of War this year in a club comp. it's enjoyable and easy to pick up but it's not warhammer.

Yeah, I was kind of hoping that KoW could take over where GW left off. And kudos to them but it is not the same game. Since I don't play any competitions I see no reason to leave 8th Edition. Played Blood bowl when I was 14-16. Had and Elf player rage quit on me when I killed 80% of his men with my Orcs. Completely ignored the ball

Blood Bowl is a very very good game IMO. If you haven't played in a while I'd encourage trying it out. You can also play it on the IPAD or PS4 or computer in various formats to get a feel for the game again.
