Got only about 60$ of stuff this time. I participated in Bones 2 and 3 for more (missed the first one), and while there was a lot a cool models this time too, they were less useful for my armies which is why I usually get them, with the exception for the unpractically large model they release near the end, which are too cool to miss. Only this time it was "just a bigger dragon" in a normal, static pose, a bit underwhelming. I think I'm getting too much dragon though, already have 3 from previous Bones, and got the Zombie and Bone Dragon this time! Also got the Fantasy scenery kit. Pretty much the only thing I got, was tempted to get the Baba Yaga hut to cut the leg and use as scenery, but swapped it for the Scenery pack when it came out. Also very tempted to get the Treeman later, I don't play Wood Elves or anything but it's very rare for me to find a Treeman to my liking, and this one looks awesome! But it increased my shipping cost by about $10 so I left him out for now. I hear 'ya! I was really excited about the dragon in the main core set. I think that it'll make a great Forest Dragon for my Sisters of Twilight! I didn't go for any of the other dragons seeing as I already have 2 High Elf, 2 Wood Elf, 1 Dark Elf, and 1 Zombie Dragon. Other than the Sister's dragon, I think I'm set - on dragons. (I DID include the Turtle Dragon, just because I thought that was super-cool looking, I loved the concept, and I plan on using him as a modified Carnosaur for my Lizardmen.) The thing that I'm probably the MOST excited about are the two Wyvern options! I can't tell you how long I've been waiting for a good Wyvern to be produced! I have the GW one with a normal Orc Warboss riding him, but I really wanted one for an Shaman and one for a Black Orc. What a fun game that would be with 3 of those flying around the board! I love the sculpt of these models as well! There wasn't very much that I couldn't see a use for in one way or another. Even the big-headed, anime-eyed characters could be good introduction models for my kids some day. By the time this set comes out, they'll be nearing 4 years old, so by the time I get them all painted up, maybe they'll be showing an interest in Daddy's game (they already say, "Daddy paint! Daddy paint! Daddy paint!" when I have my stuff out, so the interest is there, I just need to keep it watered and well fertilized)! The scenery kit looked really good too! I was severely tempted (especially by the Elven gazebo). I decided to go for Baba's Hut because I'm lacking on actual houses and Baba herself was included in the Core set. Besides, house models are usually really expensive! And that Treeman did look very cool, but I already have 5 Treemen, so....

Yeah I got the Zombie and Bone Dragon because they where cool, and I didn't had any decent unridden Undead Dragon yet (got the 4th edition one and another even older and smaller). I got the Dragon Don't Share one and 2 other from previous Kickstarter, plus a McFarlane Dragon (pre-painted toys, kinda like cheating ) so I had enough "Regular" Dragon, so the one from the core set or the big one didn't really catch my attention. The small Wyvern is quite cool (and it came with the Griffon, was tempting for my Empire) and the big one is even better! I don't play Orcs though and my friend who does also have quite a few Wyvern himself (I can recommend you to look at Trollforged Miniatures, they have a great Orc on Wyvern if you ever need more though!). There was (like always) many cool random models (either just nice looking or great for armies I don't play), but I try to limit it to what I can use in my armies and games, because I already have so many stuff I must not start to get too many "for fun" models or else I'll never finish anything! Not that I can finish an army anyway but it'll be double-impossible with random models thrown in the mix

Only chiming in cause it's timely & topical - I went to my FLGS last night (for MtG FNM, FYI). I bought 2 random Bones blisters, both "Tiki Champion".
The pose was a bit off. Both arms and swords. The actual Bones material felt a bit wimpy. Flimsy. Got 2 coffee mugs, filled one with screaming hot water out of the kitchen sink. Filled one with ice water.
Soaked a mini in the hot water for 2 minutes. Took out, re-positioned, dunked in ice water for 2 minutes. Did the same with Tiki Champion #2. This 5 minutes of extra works really makes them feel SO MUCH more sturdy. It must honestly change the structure of the material.
And the pose is perfect. And the arms and swords feel so much less flimsy.
Also, Just primed them. I feel like this quick process makes the primer (and therefore, basecoat) adhere much much better.
Yours truly, from the trenches - Wilson
