Kicking off another month with our motivational challenge goals!
As usual, I'll get us started with my list and a model:
3 Skeleton Chariots More work on my Teutogen Guard Medusa 10 Sisters of Avelorn 4 Ogre Maneaters Dark Elf BSB More work on 20 Dwarf Hammerers Random figures
Aaaaaand here's Medusa!
I was also wondering, would you guys like to have a monthly challenge mixed up with this? I can pose a "challenge" for the month (something like: make a unit filler model). Those who want to participate may do so. No pressure, just something to work on and push yourself beyond your comfort zone. I'd try to make it simple so that it doesn't take much time or take away from progress on your armies. What do you guys think? Is that something you would like?
Finish last months pledge and just did most of the left over
Nine dark shards (gives me a total of 24, 2*12) Three dreadspears (gives me a total of 25) One hydra Last two sections of my river Start a hill project Paint my first unit in 20 years of glade guard (old ones gone....)
That's probably more then I muster but let's set a high goal.
Started early with last months left over as my units were missing musicians and command from when I bought the lot. I continue on the same theme by the old owner, and you can see the theme to the right.

Going to pledge one fully completed miniature. Don't want to go to high but optimistic I can do a bit more than that done as the mini I really want to complete (solo Gorebeast) is already half done. Hopefully I can knock that out this weekend and get a BEAST in.
mottdon Not really interested in an additional challenge due to time constraints personally. I'm mindful of the fact that I failed the eefl Warmachine painting challenge.
Hopefully things going well I'll see some familiar miniatures on your March challenge pledge list
I really like these monthly threads which keep me pumped about Warhammer and seeing all the cool stuff you all put out is great.
February! Let's get back into it. I will try to finish a brick of Empire spearmen, partly updating really old paint jobs. And I need to get that manticore off my paint station. It has been lurking unfinished for two long
I’m going to over commit, especially as I’ll be in Paris for at least a week.
1 wood elf BSB on foot Finish off 2 sets of wood elf command (champ, musician, standard) for my Glade guard (started and unfinished in 4th ed.) 1 Bretonnian KOTR tester (likely trying a yellow and black pattern on this one). Print off some blank Bretonnian heraldry pages from the 5th ed. Book to play around with heraldry designs Make further progress on the Glade Lord on Great Stag Make some progress on 3 Primaris Agressors.
I’ll also look to undercoat 10 wildwood rangers, 2 waywatchers, 11 KOTR, glue and undercoat a second waystalker, re-undercoat 9 KOTR and 6 Grail Knights (from black to white).
Oh and I would be up for some kind of challenge. Every month seems a bit much though.
Well, what about doing one thing every other month? Giving each of us two months to work on a project. I'm afraid that if we push it much longer than that, it'll fizzle out and nobody would participate because they forgot about it.
So, just pushing forward with this, how about for this month and March, we'll make the "Group Challenge" to be a unit filler. It can be on a single 20mm base, take up an entire row of models, or whatever you want. You can do as many as you want, as long as there is 1 made. No restrictions.
The point is to be creative and help inspire others here. Seeing others "think outside the sprue box" can help spark imagination. That's what I want for this to be for us. A good source of inspiration, a catalog of our collective work, and a motivational challenge to keep pushing the boundaries. This might also be a way to "keep it fresh" by working on something that you'd normally never do or get to.
Ryryak, I'm sure your Skaven could use a hunk of warpstone rock to defend! Knoffles, your Beastmen a herdstone to gather around, Strutsagget, your DE a sacrificial altar or your WE....well, trees. (Be sure these are just suggestions off the top of my head. I am in no way saying you should do these particular things!) At any rate, I think it could be fun.
My armies: Empire, Dwarfs, High Elves, Wood Elves, Dark Elves, Lizardmen, Skaven, Tomb Kings, Ogre Kingdoms, Orcs and Goblins, and Skitarii (40K).
