hey. dark elf ladies looking good. that is a hefty unit to finish just like that.
mottdon, the icy ogres are growing on me. when they are sitting on brownish beasts their skin color is a nice contrast. as infantry it is a bit too much color for me.

here is my entry for the unit filler challenge. two marauders representing ....three marauders by carrying a little trophy of the dark gods. it does nicely break up the ranks of these not-so-pretty marauder infantry sculpts. main strut is balsa wood. not sure where the golden birdie is from. it might be warmaster? or some other manufacturer? then adorned with choice plastic bits. in the interest of full disclosure: I built this thing years ago and only updated the paint job now. If this takes me out of the running for winning the grand prize...no problem. (now if only I had the guts to tackle touching up the paint job for the rest of that unit). just noticed that picture also shows some fearsome Easter beasts in the background. they are up to no good. I am sure.

mottdon you are a machine! Do you use a snow ‘flock’ or the new GW technical snow paint or something else on your bases?

The man must not sleep. He's got quadruplets, a wife, a job, and still manages to paint more than the rest of us.

I just plan ahead while I'm doing other things and then jump on it and crank 'em out! My wife wants me to start trying to sell some since I enjoy cranking them out. I just don't think I'm quite good enough.
I use the Gale Force 9 Snow Flocking. The key is getting a little plastic throw-away container, (I found a bundle of them in the wedding section at Walmart), put the snow in and then pour PVA glue on top of it. Mix it up until it has a fairly thick fluid consistency. Then just "paint" it on! Pretty easy really. It'll dry like what you see.

knoffles if you want to compare I use GW on my Dark Elves. I've tried making snow bases heaps, I use PVA glue but it ALWAYS drys green! I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I have to end up painting it white

I have to end up painting it white That's weird. I've never heard of that happening before. I'm just using standard Elmer's glue.

I've always loved the 'Shinogre' model and that guy in the middle is great. What a boss! He could certainly pass for a bruiser as he has enough mass/presence.

Yeah, I love it too! I added some blades at the end of the pole on his back. He just felt a little too unintimidating as he was.
And, yes, I could definitely use him as a Bruser if I ever have the need for one, bust as is right now, my Tyrant and BSB are probably going to be all I'll need for quite some time. I'm focusing on Hunter's right now too, so that's taking up quite a few of my hero points. I thought the role of Maneater was probably the best fit for him.
I also just got a Hunter (on foot), 2 more Sabertusks, and a Gorger in the mail yesterday, so those'll be coming soon. I'm putting some final touches on my High Elf hero right now, though.

Pledge COMPLETE!!! (one little highlight layer to go.. .but i just didnt wanna fail this months challenge) Things I learned... don't stick his Khaine forsaken head on before painting. The brush acrobatics to blend flesh tone over around ant through all that hair n jaw bone was torture! all up tho, hes pretty cool! Attachments:
