First rule of Paint Club: There are no rules.
You can do whatever you want! This is just a chance to share what you're working on (you never know when someone will get inspired by whatever you're doing) and see collectively that we are alive and thriving! With 8th being "dead", many people will think that they have no option BUT to move on to other, less appealing games, like AoS. We need to show them that this is not the case and that we are, in fact, thriving.
I'm looking forward to seeing your progress with the Orc Boys, Danny! I got several of those old school models myself that I need to work on! (FYI, is there something in particular you are looking for in order to round out your older models? I have several. Maybe we can arrange some sort of trade?)

Hurry and get to the Reiksguard and the Pikemen! Basic humans are some of my favorite models in this game... basic? BASIC? you and I are basic humans. This is the Reiksguard! the finest humanity has to offer. steely resolve, faith in Sigmar, strength 4, tired old horses. they have it all. I got them mostly assembled. Time to face my sash-sculpting nightmare.

Once again pledging one fully painted and based miniature.
Most likely to be Fhul Powgor the Centigor Chieftain. (Read the name in Arnold Schwarzenegger accent)

For any new folk reading this who are worried about the quantity of miniatures they commit each month and maybe holding back on joining because they are concerned about how they stack up with some of the more beastly painters of the group. You know, the ones who are banging out great looking regiment after regiment.
Don't be!
I pledge a measly 1 miniature a month generally and if I am welcome here with my one miniature then you all are!
Assembling, painting...who cares, just post what you are working on....we appreciate it all and want to see it.
This is a great hobby of hours and it isn't going anywhere.

Well, Imma count this unit as done. I only have a touch of gold trimming left to do and then they'll be completely finished. But they'll work well enough for my game tomorrow! I hope you like them!

cranking out regiments like a boss, mottdon! I am more the slow yet not steady type. Cut up a base today. The iron daemon is a tight fit on the suggested size. not sure I like the crowded look.

I've finished my Skaven Blood Bowl Blitzer and 4 Linerats (except for bases on those 4): I've started on the rat ogre, but I'm still working on flesh for him. Given he's actually modelled with a few ragged patches of fur, I'm going to paint him as mainly bald, although I usually dislike that look on skaven.

I don't think I'll get onto doing anything with this model this month, but this is how the Dark Elf Dreadlord looks at present: The cloak and robes are done, plus the silver metal. Next step, I think, is picking out various bits in gold. After that it should just be some leather, the shield, the head, and then the gem hanging from the cloak. He's a kitbash - torso from the Cold One Chariot rider, sword and shield from the Black Dragon kit, head is the champion from the High Elf Shadow Warriors kit (my favourite elf head), and the cloak is from the High Elf Prince/Noble kit.

How did you do the gold on the lord's shield? It looks great.

How did you do the gold on the lord's shield? It looks great. Thx! So I am mixing a lot of brands and back and forth on the shield. So I have come down to I like all Vallejo model air metallics silvers(steel, bolt gun, silver and so on). Then I like army painter golds but they only got 2 colors so I use some GW for very dark and very bright highlight. Basic concept: 1 start dark gold, corners and script bolt gun silver. 2 agrax earth shade to make silver and all corners browned. 3 sometimes (not this case) add flesh wash to pop red on gold. 4 light highlight steel silver on corners 5 mid level gold 6 bright level gold if needed. With that said in just this case, I started out testing with some Vallejo golds again after buying a paint(nail polish) shaker. The shaker helped a lot but Did not like the flatness of their gold so not sure how much I painted over and what is left as base color. EDIT: Sounds to complicated its more just dark gold, brown wash. Mid gold on top and in this case army painter: gennas gold.

Geez, I love this guy as he is! I don't think that you really need to do much more to him! Really captures the "Dark Lord" look! I may be a bit partial since my Dark Elves actually have dark skin, but dang! He really looks kinda other-worldy as he is! So cold and calculating. Gold might change that though. I'll definitely warm him up. Still, great work so far!

I worked on my Dwarf War Machines this weekend as well as their assigned crew. Most of these were repaints, as they were very basic on their first attempt years ago. All total: 2 Cannons (6 crew) 2 Organ Guns (6 crew) 1 Bolt Thrower (3 crew) 1 Flame Cannon (2 crew - 1 is mounted to the machine) 1 Grudge Thrower (3 crew) 1 Thane (repaint) I feel pretty good about all that progress. And only 1 OG pic since both were exactly the same. Here's the Master Engineer Corps: And for good measure, my Thane: I know that these weren't on my "To do" goal at the beginning of this thread, but after my game this weekend, they were feeling a little "beat up" to me....
