I know I haven't done this before, and I know my painting skills can't compare to the rest of yours, but I would like to pledge myself to a Screaming Bell for this month

I know I haven't done this before, and I know my painting skills can't compare to the rest of yours, but I would like to pledge myself to a Screaming Bell for this month Hey Sir, I am just like you. This month is gonna be my first challenge and I am far from being a master painter. But who cares ? As long as we enjoy what we do, it's all that matters. So for this month I'm gonna try to: -Finish my horde of Grave Guards. This is the big focus, about 30 more of them to go. -Finish my mounted Wight king BSB (shouldn't take long, it's almost done). -Start to work on a new model I received, it's a limited edition skin wolf from ForgeWorld that I will use as a Varghulf. Can't wait to paint this one. Keep your paintbrushes sharp !

Most of us(excluding mahbruck because he is super awesome good) are just standard painters trying to improve by doing more models. It's up to each one to decide for himself if he thinks the models are good enough for his army. Just putting paint on the models will make any war table awesome Most of all this thread is to help each other forward when motivation fails on that 23ed Spearman that needs to be done. Failing too is ok. Think I have failed more months then I have managed to complete my pledge

It definitely helps to see that we are not painting alone but that others are doing it as well. By sharing our progress it creates a much better mood and I'm sure it improves everyone's productivity. Let's keep at it !

It's really hard to capture the color transition in a still image like these. It's a very cool effect!

Strutsagget - love the BSB. I built my Daemonsmiths this morning, and now I'm wanting that model too. Mottdon - the colour effect on the Karic Adept's armour looks really cool. Is it gloss finished? I've made some progress on my Irondrakes - got the first one finished, and the others part-way through the production line: Attachment DeletedThis is only a quick photo with my phone, so the quality/lighting aren't great. It turned out the Irondrakes needed three more layers of paint than I'd anticipated - the copper was too red, so I put a layer of Hashut Copper over it before washing it (and felt dirty despoiling him with a paint of the Dawi Zharr), plus I hadn't noticed the leather straps on the arms, which needed a base of Administratum Grey, and a wash of Nuln Oil. That's still only 9 steps after they've been sprayed to completion, which is simple enough. It looks like the other 8th edition dwarf plastics aren't much more complicated - I'd just need to paint some weapon hafts/beards/flesh/shields, which isn't too much extra. Too many of my recent painting projects (Chaos Warriors, Silver Tower, Nagash, Blood Bowl Skaven) have taken ages to paint, hence taking my painting down a level in the interests of clearing some of the colossal backlog I have.

doesn't look too bad. I opted for the Alternative models but I think they will be even worse for ranking. not looking forward to it. often times a bit of height variation helps, i.e. putting some models on a piece of slate or whatnot.
glad to see some new faces enter the ring. paint away everybody!
