Damn sedge great work as always. The mini diorama is great. I second the copperwork on the forge. I’d love to know your process for that. The dwarf lord is also superb

The metallics for my Dwarves are actually really simple. The whole model is first sprayed with Leadbelcher, then washed all over with Nuln Oil, and drybrushed Stormhost Silver, which gets the silver metallics finished. The bronze areas get painted Screaming Bell then Hashut Copper, then I pick out any gold bits (e.g. runes) with Retributor Armour. These copper/gold parts then get washed with Reikland Fleshshade, then finally a light drybrush of Stormhost Silver. Any bits I want to look "sooty" then get drybrushed with Abaddon Black. The Anvil diorama isn't an original idea of mine - when I was working out how to base the model, I came across this image online, which is absolutely stunning: I'd love to see more of that person's Dwarf army.

Converted up my Miners finally: Once I've got the latest box of Irondrakes/Ironbreakers built, I'll get these all primed, and it's probably back to painting more Dawi.

Woah! Are those Hammerer bodies with Miners weapons?!? There's a reason those bodies are so coveted! Great conversion work!

Thanks - yeah, you're spot on with what they are. The only other major part of them was the helmets, which are Ironbreaker ones with the detailing scraped off, so they look a little bit like battered hard hats. I've added various pouches, lanterns and spare picks/spades, and scraped the detail off their vambraces to make them look less like a martial unit and more like everyday dwarves who just happen to be in a fight. For similar reasons, I left the pauldrons off - also if you're mining rock all day you probably don't want to restrict the movement of your shoulders.
I'll give the unit a darker and dirtier paintjob to make them even more visually distinct from the Hammerers.

Some lanterns and candles might really help too. Let me dig through my Dwarf bits box and see how many spare bits I have. I can send you some. (If I find anything relevant.)

Thanks for the offer - I really appreciate it. There are actually some lanterns and candles there, it's just hard to see amongst the mass of grey plastic. I think 4 of them have candles and 3 have lanterns, which is probably sufficient for the 10 of them (and they should stand out more once painted).

I’m sure I also have dwarf miner bits going spare too. I do have 40 of the buggers.

With my newfound love of transfers, I decided to spruce up my Dawi banners: There isn't (to my memory) a decent WFB Dwarf transfer set, so I used ones from the Blood Bowl team - which are quite small, but work fine. I've now just remembered I wanted to add some transfers to my Gyros, so I'll have a go at that soon.

They do look nice. You can also design and print your own on transfer paper. I've done that with three of my armies. Nice paint jobs too, btw.
