I've ordered a jar of that Distress Crackle Paint Rock Candy. Hopefully, I'll get it soon and can start experimenting with it. Has anyone every use this stuff before?

This crackle paint is very similar to a couple of colors GW has in their line. I forget their names but they're both browns/tans; I actually use them to base my British in Flames of War.
I've played around with them they're very cool. You can't put thin coats down though, you have to really lay it on, the thicker the paint the better the crackle.
I enjoyed it so much that I actually added some different crackle colors (I was thinking of doing red base coat with black crackle and then a red/orange/yellow drybrush for some lava) to my amazon cart because I wanted to play around with this a little more. Funnily enough I was going to do the white crackle as well and go for a snow and ice theme. I may still, I'm in the process of shopping around looking for a base scheme for my dark elves at the moment.
I really like it I say you should go for it!

Are you talking about Agrellian Earth? I use that all the time. Even if it is laid on really thick, it still doesn't crack up as much as I want sometimes. I did a little experiment a couple of years ago with it where I used a sculpting putty called PaperClay to create a small mound on a base, then I applied the Agrellian Earth. After it dried, it started pulling up larger chunks of the "paper" which making it look much, much more cracked. It did show the white of the paper beneath, but I simply painted in the cracks with a dark brown and it looked great. The mount was in the middle of this "capture the flag / unit filler" piece. You can see how the earth starts to break up a bit more in the center. I imagine this could work on a larger scale or even on several layers.

YES! That's the one!
Nice base I like it!
I haven't used other brands so I don't know how well they crackle compared to agrellan earth. Hopefully I'll know in time!

Sure, I can take some more pics. I don't know if they'll be any better, but I'll try to see what I can do.
Basically, I used a drill, moving up in bit size until it just barely slips in and is quite snug, BUT you have to go super-slow. Just take little bites out of the plastic until you get to the size and depth you want. The riders are a bit more difficult since there simply isn't as much model that can be drilled away. I was about to inset the magnet on the Dreadlord fairly well, but not on the Sorceress because her butt and legs were quite small. I just glued the magnet to her butt.
Now the Dragon has a throne that the riders sit upon and I was able to drill down deep enough to hide both magnets from each piece withing the throne itself. I'll try to take pics tonight.

Making more progress on my Raging Heroes Dark Pegasus. I've got a little green stuff work to do on the gaps and then I'll be down to the priming stage and then painting it up!

I really like the medusa. Did you add extra tentacles at the base or am I tripping?

I really like the medusa. Did you add extra tentacles at the base or am I tripping? No, no extra snakes. That's the way she came. One snake even broke off around her head. Glad you like her! I liked this asp look much more than just black.
