Those knights look like the belong in White Dwarf. Awesome job.

They look fantastic, I'll definitely be looking at these for inspiration/copying when I come to paint the 10 I have!

Yep I definitely think you should be sending them to Gw as they will almost certainly we added to the pics on their website. Stunning work. It helps that it’s one of my favourite GW kits. Even though I immensely dislike playing against the army, I couldn’t but help pick up a few boxes for my ‘someday’ build.

Okay, so some improvement works on early models are complete. You can see originals on the first page of this thread if you really want. Executioner banner bearer - given a transfer so it's not plain. Red on red may not have been the best colour choice, but whatever: Dreadspears - these were my first ever unit I painted. They're still not very good, but the skin tone is fixed, some other colours that were inconsistent with the rest of my army have been sorted, and they're a bit tidier. They're nowhere near the Cold One Knights in terms of quality, but at least I don't feel bad about them any more (except for assembling the banner sideways): Reaper Bolt Throwers - similar story here, and the bolt throwers now have (very plain) bases: Shadowblade (metal version) - again, a tidy up and skin change: Hydra (resin version) - not much to see here that's different, but I removed the badly executed scenic junk from the base, and tidied the paintjob up. I regret not giving it a pale underbelly, but not enough to actually change that: Manticore - reattached a wing, did some changes to the rider, mainly the skin and the shield colour for consistency: Shades - these were rubbish, given a thorough fixing up: Next up is 26 old-style Darkshards, and then I can get back onto the fun stuff. The aim is to have those finished by the end of the week.

In defence of the dark elf spear bannerman it does look like he is trying to use the banner offensively and hook someone with those banner cross sectional hooks.

That, and he must have had complaints from the elves behind who wanted to see what was going on in front of them. It's pretty hard to brace yourself against a charge when you don't know if it's a Mangler Squig or a swarm of Snotlings coming.

Final repaints: Lokhir Fellheart - main thing was redoing the swords. 26 Darkshards (2 units, one with full command, the other with just a musician, but they're lined up as one). Like the Spearmen further up, this was a tidy-up mainly for the flesh and wood, plus a chance to improve the banner. Next up on the painting queue? No idea what, but I'll be building a Sorceress on Dark Steed soon.

Thanks! The back of the cloak is unchanged, so I didn't take a new photo of it. This was the one I took a couple of years ago - the only thing you'd see differently now is the blades:

One of my favourite minis.
Nice touch-up job.

Converted this Sorceress on Dark Steed up today: Currently cleaning up 30 x Corsairs, 10 x Sisters of Slaughter, 5 x Dark Riders and 10 x Menghil Manhide's Manflayers in preparation for priming next week. I will then pick one to work on.
