The hydra is sweet and the comparison pictures were perfect.

Excellent paintjob on these, looking great! In terms of sculpts I prefer the 6th edition metals though - these look a bit like killer clowns...

I’ve said it before but I love your crisp painting style. The banner is also excellent. I do think you need another 10 in the unit to make them the frightening prospect that they often are across the table 😉.

These look great, the metal ones look more wild and frenzied but these ones definitely look more menacing

Those blades look terrifying. You used several colors in the unit while keeping them very sinister looking. Not everyone can do that. Bravo!

Thanks for the comments Excellent paintjob on these, looking great! In terms of sculpts I prefer the 6th edition metals though - these look a bit like killer clowns... I didn't like the 8th edition ones when I first saw them, but I've grown to like them. The 6th edition Executioners are just as good though - I love both. I've seen someone do the 8th edition plastics with Shadow Warriors enclosed helmets instead of the skull masks - that works really well, and looks more like the 6th edition models. I’ve said it before but I love your crisp painting style. The banner is also excellent. I do think you need another 10 in the unit to make them the frightening prospect that they often are across the table 😉. I've got 20 of the 8th edition Executioners, and 11 of the 6 edition ones, both of which are far too small. If I start playing more games again I will pick up another 10 to round the plastics out to a proper unit size but at the moment I'm playing very little and painting a lot, and I'd rather get through my massive backlog first.

A few more pictures of this metal Dreadlord / Master -- he also works as a good Tullaris Dreadbringer. My only change to it was the helmet "horns" - I used a more impressive set from the Black Dragon kit. I've got the other version of this model (hand weapon + shield) but managed to inadvertently use the shield in my Malus Darkblade conversion, and chopped off its hand in the process. I've now extracted that shield from Malus, but I'm now left with two models to fix Back at the start of September, I said I wanted to complete 100 more Dark Elf models by the end of the year. A month and a half later, my progress is: 20 Executioners
- 23 Black Guard
- 10 Darkshards
- 20 Bleakswords
- 22 Witch Elves
- 10 Shades
Which means I need to get a serious move on.
