I've started building mine, which is the first model I've assembled since I began painting my dwarf army in May. It's good to be doing it again! Though my chopped up fingertips don't agree.

alright! I am mostly done, slacker no more. so, once finished I take some pics, keep them secret and then what? Do I wait until closer to the deadline before sending?

I think we just send them (and hope your recipient hasn't moved house). Given the distances involved, they're all going to arrive at different times.
I'm just needing to package it up and get it sent now.

Sorry for the late reply guys. I've been out sick all last week.
Yeah, once you're done, you can send it whenever. There's no reason you have to wait. A lot of people will wait mostly because they simply wait until last minute to get it done, which coincidentally, happens to be around Christmas, so that's why so many people call it a "Secret Santa" present. But it really isn't.
I'd be sure you take pics because the recipients don't always have the ability (or time) to take adequate pics of the model(s) you sent them. That way, you can always be sure your efforts are shared with the community! Just don't share any images BEFORE your target receives their "Happy"!

Oh - and to everyone participating - once you receive a gift, make sure you post on here that you got it and what you got. Pics are a great way to do this so that everyone can see, and hopefully, gain some inspiration for their own projects. Besides, if someone sends you a gift like this, it's just respectful.
Seems like common sense, but probably should be said anyway.

MY PACKAGE ARRIVED IN THE MAIL YESTERDAY!
I've opened the box and read the card that was in it so I know what the model is, but I haven't taken it out of the internal packaging; I'm going to wait until Christmas.
I'm super excited to see what my new Skaven Warlord on War-Litter looks like!
And to whomever my secret santa is (the card was labeled anonymously) THANK YOU! All I know is that you're in the UK as that was where the package originated!

Christmas is a long time to wait! (I've never been very good at keeping secrets.)
I'm assuming that the sender will reveal themselves in the internal packaging.

Christmas is a long time to wait! (I've never been very good at keeping secrets.) I'm assuming that the sender will reveal themselves in the internal packaging. I didn't actually - I wasn't sure whether it was supposed to remain anonymous or not, though it's got my name/address on the back and I guess there's not many London-based EEFLers in the model exchange with a surname that resembles "Sedge") I'm glad it's arrived (I spent the last week tracking it!) and hope it made it there intact.

No, no need to remain anonymous once you send your gift to your target. For me, that's part of the joy, knowing who painted up your new model.
So, ryryak, Sedge sent you your package! It's up to you when you want to open it though.

Thanks sedge ! The package arrived and looks to be intact. Unsure about the condition of the model as I really do want to wait until Christmas. I'll keep you updated. I need to get my stuff unpacked (new house) so that I can get working on the package for my own secret santa! EDIT: And yes, I knew that coming from the U.K. there were only a couple people that it could be
