Got a game for the first time in months!
5000 points; here's what I plan to bring:
Lords:
Chaos Sorcerer Lord w/ MoT, lvl4, disc, ogre blade, enchanted shield, talisman of preservation, chaos familiar, third eye, lore of metal
Heroes:
Exalted Hero w/ MoT, armor of destiny, scaled skin, daemonic mount, shield, great weapon, bsb
Chaos Sorcerer w/ lvl2, sword of battle, charmed shield, dispel scroll, lore of shadow
Exalted Hero w/ MoT, sword of might, shield, talisman of endurance, burning body

I'm going for the "infantry horde" approach, although because it's WoC, there's really no horde... Thoughts?

I think you need to find the points to make one of the exalted a Lord, hence general and Ld9 (or effectively 10 with the Standard of D). Tzeentch is really susceptible to panic, fear, terror etc. But, what to drop then... maybe one of the marauder horse?
you do score major cool points for sticking with one mark and bringing marauder foot.

I could drop the magic levels on the lore of shadow wizards to free up some points as well. Really they're just there for miasma, but with a lucky roll the RiP S/T hexes would be nice too.
I could also drop some magic items on the characters...I was just wanting to have some fun and put to good use their combat prowess.

Just food for thought -
Tomb King infantry is really vulnerable to Thunderstomp. As WOC you usually are going to win combat, and a D6 for Thunderstomp often feels like D6 x 2.
When you roll a 6, and roll 6 dice at 2+, and they all wound... You've killed 6 skeletons plus, 6 more will die due to crumble.
Chaos has like 9 things that could Thunderstomp, but you have none in this list.
A Demon Prince, a Chimera, a Giant, a Shaggoth, etc etc. Those all move pretty fast.
If you engage Tomb King infantry with your infantry AND get a T'Stomper into that same combat, say - on the flank?
Well, I think you would smash a lot of skellies to death. I say this as someone who has been on the receiving end before.
Just food for thought, cheers either way. 5000 will be fun. Certainly, no matter what.

I'll keep this under consideration for sure. I'm not looking to be ultra competitive or anything I want to try and keep all the infantry, but I'm thinking I don't need two warshrines. I may trade one out for something a little more fun (like a chimera). |

Still need to convert one of those! Haven't found the right model yet I'm holding out. As it's a centerpiece model it needs to be suitably grand. |

It's set to happen tomorrow!
I'm waiting to hear back from him...this may go even larger; he has 9k worth of TK but I don't think we'd have the time to play a game that large, I told him 7.5k would be about as large as I'd want to go.
I'll keep you guys informed and take some pictures when it happens!

I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to kill 6 Sphinxes, T8... Great Weapon Dragon Ogres, Shaggoths, Kholek. Poison? Hordes of poisoned Warhounds... For magic, Mindrazor from Lore of Shadow will help, or The Withering. From Metal, Searing Doom is good. If you take Lore of Tzeentch, Infernal Gateway or Bolt of Change are also good. |

I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to kill 6 Sphinxes, T8... *1). Cannons **2). Poison ***3). Massed BS shooting For 2 & 3; IIRC the Sphinx has minimal armor and minimal ward. Almost anything needs 6's to wound it, so just toss a bucket of dice at it. But really, S10 cannons. And then, be really lucky on the D6 wounds roll. Can Chaos steal a few Imperial Cannons?? Just borrowing them for a few hours. |

Well...looks like we've graduated up to 7500 points.
I'll post an update list tomorrow for what I plan to bring.
The next 2500 points will be the bigger stuff as I dig through my collection and start using what I have.

I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to kill 6 Sphinxes, T8... When the target is T8, an attack from a marauder with hand weapon (S3, needs 6's to wound) has just as good a chance to hurt it as an attack from an Exalted dude with Great Weapon (S4 +2 = 6 versus T8, still needs 6's to wound). Y'know what I mean?? |
