Terror is a thrip. Qt first glance would not have guessed the giant kit involvement.
Lovely monster and chain gap filling.

Thanks - the main thing I wanted to avoid was people looking at it and thinking "oh, giant with wings stuck on" - so I'm glad that's achieved.
Sadly he won't be painted for a while - it's too cold and wet to spraypaint outside, and my wife is home for the foreseeable, so I can't get away with priming indoors. Plus I quite like to leave these kinds of projects for a while before revisiting them, as I then find there's usually some other changes I want to make.
For example, I was originally trying to put the Troglodon back "fin" on him, but the curves weren't right. I may still go and give him some spines down his back at some point in the future.

What if you were to use the spiky spine from the HE dragon kit? Those might fit the scale. Some Green Stuff work would be required though. I have some extra bits if you need them! Just let me know what you're looking for!

Definitely achieved. The non vertical posing helps a lot with that as well. I'm the same way with leaving projects. There's random monsters I made years ago I haven't painted yet and may change when i revisit them.

Hmm, High Elf dragon spines could work. I need to think on this more... I quite like the idea of the chains on his back going through some kind of fleshy / bony / spiny protrusion. So something a little bit like the back of the Crypt Horror on the right:

Nearly two years since I've done anything with my Undead - disgraceful! I got the big Ogre army box for Christmas, which includes a Giant. I already have a Giant, and while it's a great kit, I don't really want a second. So when I was putting this new Giant's body together, my mind started to wander... maybe I could make something better? I had to travel far and wide - deep into the Southlands to steal the head of a Stegadon ancient from under the noses of the lizard-people, navigate the mists surrounding Ulthuan to plunder a Griffon eyrie, signed on with the Stir River Patrol to investigate the regenerative qualities of Troll flesh, cross the Dark Lands to the Mountains of Mourn to clip a tail from a petrified Stonehorn, and even venture north to the very Chaos Wastes themselves for a sample of daemon flesh. Finally I had the pieces I needed to complete my masterpiece. Fell rituals, and the darkest of magicks followed as I stitched and chained these parts to my Giant carcass. Finally, the beast was complete, so I built myself a throne of skulls on its broad shoulders, and raised the creature - my Abyssal Terror: I know Abyssal Terrors are crap - it's just a really fun concept for a model, making something out of lots of different monsters. The guy on top is a spare wraith from the new Black Coach kit, masquerading as a Master Necromancer. I used the chains to cover joins because I don't enjoy working with green stuf, though I have a few small gaps to fill (e.g. around the tail). It probably won't be until 2025 until I paint him though! I’ve met Sedge and on the surface he looks like a normal guy and then he produces something like this. It’s the quiet ones you have to watch out for 😉. Twisted buddy. Love it.

That terror is a real mish mash of parts, but works so perfectly. It actually looks terrifying!

I converted this AoS "Reikenor the Grimhailer" model to have a Vampiress on top instead. The original model with the wraith on top is cool, but I wanted something to use for WFB. Of course a Vampire on Hellsteed is a poor choice in 8th, but I wanted a model for it anyway. It had to have a 50mm square base rather than a regular cavalry one, as the model is just so big. I still need to do some tidy up work on it before it gets primed / painted.

That is a superb idea. I love the Reikenor the Grimhailer model and got one to add to a unit of something and wanted to get another to do something else with the model but just couldn't think of anything good to warrant buying a 2nd! But this is perfect!
