Or, 1 more - If I take this silly silly level 2 in the 500 point list, he needs to be both General and Heirophant. Being the Heirophant means, by rule, he has to take the Lore of Nehekhara.
If I must take him as a level 2 in future lists, can he take a different lore? In that case, I would have another Liche, Level 4, who would take Nehekhara. and Level 2 might take Light.
****Or we could just say I don't need a Heirophant in the 500 point list, as an exception, and I can take my past 4 questions off the board.

That's all good Will. The character received a promotion after the previous battle...he gained new knowledge and acquired more spells, etc. I would say that he should keep his lore though. Actually, I'm thinking about keeping the spells too. What do you think?
I am really looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with. I feel like my list is really soft but I'm more just excited to put my freshly painted dead on a public table.

I like that. He'll be a level 2 for the 500, a level 3 for the 1000, and a level 4 for the 2000. He'll stay lore of Nehekhara for all 3.
Good idea!

I played with my Skaven in this event. This is the first time I have played the army in a public and/or tournament setting. I am still learning the army and am also limited to what I can take as everything painted that I own comes in a bit under 2,000 points. But I still wanted to use them. For the first game my 500 point list was as follows.
Warlock Engineer, general, warpmusket 27 Clanrats, handweapons, shields, full command, warpfire thrower 30 Clanrats, spears, shields, full command, poisoned wind mortar Giant rat pack, 5 giant rats, 1 packmaster
In this game I played against Will and his Tomb Kings. He had 30 skeletons with bows, 3 monstrous infantry and a level 2. This was the scout scenario so I declared the rat pack as my scout unit. For Will the skeletons were his largest unit and he felt the monstrous infantry was too heavy of a unit to be scouts so he did not have a scout unit. We both deployed most of our armies in the center of the table. I put the rat pack all the way to the right flank. The tomb king shooting took out a fair amount of skaven during the advance. Skaven units charged into his units but got beaten down. The game ended with my rat pack in his deployment zone so I got that 1/2 point but besides that my army was gone. Will got the win.

For the second game which was 1,000 points I took the following.
Grey Seer, general, iron curse icon, 4 plague spells Chieftain, battle standard bearer, extra hand weapon, dragon helm, opal amulet Warlock Engineer, warpmusket 35 Clanrats, hand weapons, shields, full command, warpfire thrower 40 Clanrats, spears, shields, full command, poisoned wind mortar Giant rat pack, 23 giant rats, 3 packmasters
I played against dark elves in this game. He had 20'ish spearmen, 12'ish witch elves, hydra, 2 bolt throwers and a level 4. This was the wicked woods scenario. With magic and shooting I took the witch elves down a few before they got into the hand weapon clanrats. The witch elves ground this unit down to maybe 8'ish but the clanrats did eventually kill all the witch elves. I got a Dreaded 13th off which destroyed the elf spearmen unit which also had the level 4 in it. His hydra charged into the spear and shield clanrats. I had got the Wither spell off on him once earlier in the game so he was down to toughness 4. I got very lucky in this combat. I ended up getting 2 wounds through. Then the hydra failed to cause any wounds with its normal attacks and killed roughly 3 with thunderstomp. With my ranks and standard I won the combat and the hydra fled and I ran it down. I had been holding the giant rats in reserve next to the woods. So in turn 6 I pushed them into the woods. They ended up taking enough damage that they needed to take a panic test which was on a 6 without a re-roll (BSB was out of range because he was in the unit that chased the hydra). Pass the test and I win the game. Fail the test and it was a draw. I ended up passing the test!

I had a good time at the event, and a special thanks to Brett for giving me a good 2000 point game. I think he would have easily won if he had taken a single wizard and given him a dispel scroll. If he had come a little earlier in the day, I think he would have won the whole tournament. Khorn warriors are tough to stop in general, and at lower point games the ogres are the only army that can seriously challenge them. Thanks again all for a great tournament.

I had a good time at the event... Khorne warriors are tough to stop in general, and at lower point games the ogres are the only army that can seriously challenge them. Thanks again all for a great tournament. I have to agree that in lower point games, Warriors of Chaos with the Mark of Khorne and halberds are really powerful. They make squishy goo out of most things. If a player could take units of just 1 Bloodcrusher, that would also make for a spicy 500 point game! Frenzy is really not as much of a liability as it used to be... But at 500 to 1000 points, WoC can't afford both LD 9 and a BSB, which makes baiting a decent tactic. Put a scrubby unit 15-1/2 inches away and make the Khorne warriors test and maybe fail a charge or two. Or, maybe they just roll 2 6's and crush you either way - Khrone does that.

So tell us more how did it go? How many did you get out? Any passerby interest? I'm getting excited to do some warhammer again with 9th at Crossroads.

It went very well. I struck up a few conversations with interested parties... tried my best to be an ambassador to the game. I'd say 6 passerbys that had conversations, over a 7 hour block of time.
Couple guys asked about how to get started. It's great that Just Games has such a solid stock of Bones, so invariably my answer was some version of "Check out those shelves and get something you like that might be fun to paint" along with "All the armies are fun and we aren't competitive, and some have different styles than others".
Couple guys asked about painting. I indicated that if they painted even every other day for 2 weeks, they would most likely be better than me. Good conversations all day.
I won, then lost, then won. Then really lost the ladder match to Dan.
Game highlights include:
My casket blowing up and taking a Hydra (Charybdis, sp?) with it!
My Ushabti wrecking house in all three games. I am falling back in love with MI + buffs... Between a Necrotect, the Lore of Neherkara and/or the Lore of Light - it's amazing what these large stone fellows can do.
My 1 Skeleton Archer Unit champ going 2 full games without getting in a single BS hit. His special blue die rolled a lot of 2s and a lot of 3s.

Continuing my posts from above, next would be the 2,000 point game. For this game I took the following.
Grey Seer, general, iron curse icon, 4 plague spells Chieftain, battle standard bearer, extra hand weapon, dragon helm, opal amulet Warlock Engineer, Level 2, Warplock Pistol, Warp Energy Condenser Warlock Engineer, warpmusket Warlord, Halberd, Talisman of Preservation, Tricksters Helm Assassin, Tail Weapon, Potion of Strength 35 Clanrats, hand weapons, shields, full command, warpfire thrower 40 Clanrats, spears, shields, full command, poisoned wind mortar Giant rat pack, 23 giant rats, 3 packmasters 2 Rat Ogres and 1 Master Moulder with Shock-Prods 3 Stormfiends, 1 with Doom Flayer Gauntlets, 1 with Ratling Cannons and 1 with Warpfire Projectors
Now this list is way character heavy but as I state above this is every painted mini that I have. For this game I faced Rich and his Vampire Counts. This was the travelers scenario where you are trying to pick up objectives from four different locations on the table. I decided to take a risk and make my level 2 warlock engineer the traveler and hope that I either rolled Skitterleap or rolled doubles so I could pick Skitterleap (which lets the character jump around the table). I got lucky and got the spell. Rich and I deployed our strongest units on opposite flanks. He put his traveler on his strong flank and I put my traveler on my weak flank. I grabbed the close token on my weak flank and then tried to skitterleap twice but Rich stopped it. The unit that the warlock was in then got charged by a big unit of crypt horrors. I ended up holding out and in my next magic phase got off skitterleap transporting the warlock to my strong flank where I was then able to pick up the two tokens on that side. So I got three tokens and Rich got two. I got lucky though as the warlock could have easily died leaving me with just one token or I could have never gotten skitterleap.

And for the 100 point ladder match I faced Will. I took 16 clanrats with handweapons and shields, a clanrat unit champion who was my general and 5 giant rats. Will took all skeleton archers. I ended up getting the first turn plus I move faster so this combo was huge. I rushed the guys on the ladder forward and sent the rest to engage his ladder carrying skeletons. We got into combat in a number of places. With leadership 5 I failed most of my fear tests. I got my ladder to the tower first but failed to roll a 5 to wound for three or four rounds in a row. Will then got his ladder to the tower and had an attempt but also failed. On the next turn I broke the lock and got in. So another win. At first read Will and I both stated that we really didn't get was going on with the scenario. But after playing though it we figured out what was going on and both enjoyed it. I would really like to play this one again sometime now that I better understand.

And now my general overview of the event. This was my first time in Just Games. Upon me entering the store the owner, Matt, came right over to me and introduced himself and made me feel right at home. The store has a good amount of floor and table space, I didn't feel at all cramped. The store has an impressive assortment of reaper minis, plus a few boxes of warhammer minis, full line of GW paints, tons of board games and then lots of trading card games (magic, etc). We had four people for the tournament plus two people who couldn't make it for the whole event but were able to play one game against each other in the afternoon. I liked the escalation aspect and the scenarios. It was fun to play in an event where you were using different lists for each game. Rich brought his personal terrain which is top notch, so we were playing on great looking tables. I live about 1 hour and 40 minutes from the store but the event started at noon so I was still able to hang out at home for a while in the morning and I got home before 10 p.m. So the traveling wasn't bad at all and I would say the tournament was well worth the trip.

I agree with Dan on almost all of what he says - In fact, I could see nothing I DISagree with, I simply wanted to add a +1 to these:
RE: Ladder Match - "...that we really didn't get was going on with the scenario. But after playing though it we figured out what was going on and both enjoyed it. I would really like to play this one again sometime now that I better understand." Yes, def. I would put forward a 2ft x 2ft ladder match table at campaign weekend for those in between 40 to 60 minute time periods betwixt games. Also, this game reminded me how much I LOVE Mordheim.
RE: Just Games - "...made me feel right at home... I didn't feel at all cramped... an impressive assortment of reaper minis... the traveling wasn't bad at all and I would say the tournament was well worth the trip." I agree with all of this and would like to start setting aside a weeknight day to play. Maybe every other week. I might even join in on Just Games' Guildball League, I just need to allocate a night of the week between work / home repairs / and a 6-month old.
Thanks again to Rich for setting this up last weekend! You da man
