So I suppose in order to streamline their products, GW is making all Dwarfs, Slayers? Kinda looking that way.

The one picture of the Slayer/Runelord/Dwarf with no mustache on his upper lip... and his visual similarity to the (WWF) Undertaker circa 2000... Makes me giggle every time.

So I suppose in order to streamline their products, GW is making all Dwarfs, Slayers? Kinda looking that way. Apparently there are 2 dwarf factions. These slayers and the 'steamhead' faction which are more engineer bases. The steamheads are apparently coming later this year. At some stage i will definitely pick up the 'Magmadroth' kit. As soon as i see one for a decent price it's mine. Looking at some recent pictures convinced me. Imo it comes with the best looking dwarfs of the whole release. The Magmadroth will join my Chaos Dwarfs and I'll make a Daemonslayer from the rider. I like the lanky greataxe option. The other option i feel will also make a good Chaos Dwarf with a black/dark hair scheme. These are all the Magmadroth assembly options. I think this would have been a great 'End Times' release but whatever. Moar dwarfs is good dwarfs. I think all of these kits will fit right into 8th Edition.

grandmaster, it seems this Slayer release is more Chaos Dwarf indeed. Monsters, chaos-dwarf-like-rifles, crests like tall hats, etc.

I totally agree, Kevin. The more and more I look at these images, the more and more I think Chaos Dwarfs. And even though I love the look of the new Magmadroth, it just doesn't feel "Dwarfish" to me. Chaos Dwarf - yes, but not regular "good" Dwarfs.
And that Wyrmslayer Javelin is HUGE! It kinda feels weird to me that a "Slayer" riding a "Dragon" is wielding a weapon named for its dragon-slaying ability. There's just too many cross-over conflicts of interest there!
I'm glad GW is making another release other than the Sigmarines or the "favored son" army, but I just don't think they'll fit in very well with the rest of my Dwarf army. That's probably what GW intends. Make them similar, but not completely cohesive. That way, when you are wowed but the quality of their models, and anxious for something new, you'll be enticed to buy all of them and start playing AoS. That's my theory anyway.

Bringin back the tall hats - Some Chaos Dwarf from 1995 is still wearing his and the style finally caught back up to him. Pimpin ain't easy.

I don't mind the "Come at me Bro!" stance or the Axe and key (I suppose he could poke someone's eye out with it...), but the mohawk really bothers me. It's too offset from his head. Either that, or he literally has hair down to his toes. That thing is massive!
Something else that makes them look more like Chaos Dwarfs are the decorative horns. Don't Chaos Dwarfs have a winged bull thing they can take as a mount? Ummm...hello? Bull horns?

That Chaos Dwarf Sorcerer was THE FIRST Warhammer Model I ever bought! Got him and the Chaos Dwarf book same day, and my life changed forever. Although I feel like he had more lightning bolts on him... Ol' curly beard we used to call him.

Dwarves look very cool. I had borrowed Mike Norton's dwarf army a few months ago . . . hmmm.

Yeah i plan on using the model as is (love the beard) but ditching the Mohawk as it's imo the only non Chaos Dwarfy thing about the model. Without the Mohawk he has a 'moderate hat' which looks imo pretty good by itself or could be enhanced further.
