Pikemen, Greatswords, Swordsmen...looks like they're trying to make Brets into an Empire faction. :/

Pikemen, Greatswords, Swordsmen...looks like they're trying to make Brets into an Empire faction. :/ They're probably looking at T9A, which... well, is pretty much trying to make Brets function like an Empire faction 'in the name of balance'.

T9a have a massive headache with brets. They've made the knights so expensive because they put a lot of value on armour saves (2+) & speed/maneuverability (16" move, 3" frontage) that there are not many models in the army.
What they don't pay heed to, is that the knights have 1 attack, generally WS4, no (natural) re-rolls. And lances are on the charge only Ofc... Also pressing the matter is that armour piercing has gone up in the game overrall.
So the army is essentially useless, unless in a team event, where you have more say over who you'll be fighting...
As you can tell they haven't deviated much from GW territory, and have not a clue how to properly balance them... Utter trite

Utter trite Im looking forward to giving the warhammer armies project bretonnia 8th edition army a shot. Im liking the look and options.

Yeah, they've really expanded on the army in a way that's natural from the last one. And *feels* like warhammer.
Nadolig Llawen! Have a great day, y'all!

Pikemen, Greatswords, Swordsmen...looks like they're trying to make Brets into an Empire faction. :/ The Pikemen are for Empire, Norba have them listed under their Empire line. However, you’re right in that their Bretonnian range has foot Knights with hand weapon and shield and double handed swords now. I imagine maybe they’ve included these to use the Warhammer Armies Project Bretonnian book which includes Foot Knights, and have released separate units for great weapon and hand weapon and shield-armed variants.

While I hate that tomb king head it's awesome to see the 'Flail of skulls' magic item effectively made by them.

Looks like I've got a couple of months to catch up on here. First up "Mattes Miniatures" - yep, another random model maker; German chap this time. Kickstarter here: The main thing has closed but I think late pledges are still possible. It's Chaosy stuff, so: And some female Chaos-y warriors too that look pretty dreadful so I won't post them here.

Fantasy Workshop 3D - another new lot, 3d printed scenery. High Elves this time, and yes a Kickstarter: No website at present, but apparently this will go live in the next few days: www.fantasyworkshop3d.fror/

Wood Axe Miniatures (small Etsy store, with some cool models) have this dwarf zeppelin on its way: It's still a WIP, and meant to be a bomber - so a possibly Gyrobomber replacement.

Lubart Miniatures - continue to do great looking renders. Dragon Ogres now: Though I think GW ones are better. These are just renders for now - not released models.

Norba... Hierotitan is back, in plastic apparently: www.norbaminiatures.com/en/miniatures/289-hierotitan.htmlKnoffles linked this elsewhere - their Empire warmachines kickstarter: Unboxing video of their "plastic" gyrocopter: www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DAQeS0qJNELooks more like that crappy pvc(?) material that Avatars of War used for some of their "plastic" units (if that's the case, it's a nightmare - not as crisply detailed as resin, needs to be stuck with superglue, and hard to clean up). I hope I'm wrong on that; I haven't actually watched the video yet. This is one of their foot knights, painted (not by me):
