Just a fun fluff post. I need your inspiration!!! Post me a pic of a couple of your fav units, complete with Back story!!! Like this Head takers of the Witch King; A much feared tower of Malekith's elite guard. The head takers have never won an inter tower war, nor have they ever risen far in any of the other inter tower competitions. This has less to do with their battle prowess or mastery of Druchii politics and more to do with the fact that kidnapping and torture are their number one pursuit in life... Having more in common with followers of both Khorne and Slaanesh this particular Druchii tower revel in the slaughter and torture of kidnapped victims! Each and every kidnapped life ends their months long incarceration only after their mind and body has become completely broken.. the sweet release of death coming both swift and brutal at the edge of a halberd or dagger. Other Black guard towers tend to give them a wide berth, not even seeing them as true Black Guard. Lord Malekith keeps them as his wetworkers. Unable to be completely controlled and used only as a blunt instrument to crack harder targets, they care nothing for their losses, as long as blood flows and necks are separated from shoulders... The head takers are left to their own devices until such time as the witch king has need of this most barbaric and darkest of towers

I've got no fluff with my Dawi! Although I intend my DoW to be completely fluff...probably not overly competitive though!
I'll think of something for the Dwarves!

Ha it's slowly starting to come together I'll post some pics at some point when I'm a bit further along than a series of boxes! It is an eclectic range of minis though which is definitely liberating!!

The Scarlet Curs hail from the city of Wolfenburg. They are known for their ruffian demeanor and the Wolfenburg city guard tends to not interfere when there is a brawl in the taverns around the Curs’ barracks. At the same time they are known for getting the job done. Be it protecting an outpost along the Salzenroad from a petty bandit king or hunting down beastmen deep in the forests or dealing with a spider goblin infestation in the Scarred Hills. When Wolfenburg is called upon to send their finest, the Scarlet Curs are ready. And so it was at Volganof where the Scarlet Curs fought their way through the Marauder vanguard and reached the city proper only days before the fateful assault. Oleg von Raukov assigned them as a bodyguard for his brother Vassili and so the Scarlet Curs stayed out of the fray initially. However, after Vassili left to check on the supply levels in the keep, they pushed their way to the front line. Just then Lord Mortkin struck down Oleg with a mighty blow, stunning the defenders of Volganof. The Scarlet Curs were the first to recover and rushed in. Some say Lord Mortkin awaited them with arms stretched wide while others claim he was mutilating Oleg’s body, all agree it was the Scarlet Curs who ended Mortkin and his reign of terror. But, the Curs were then inundated by a wave of chaos warriors eager to avenge their fallen lord. The next day Valmir von Raukov himself found the Curs’ regimental colors right next to the body of his favorite son and later personally returned the banner to Wolfenburg. Haha, I have far too many unicorns!
My group & I played storm of magic quite a bit, and I used to take a block of 8-10 unicorns.
Along of BotWD W.Lions I could drop Comets on my units whilst in combat (Unicorns would have a 3++, Lions 2++).
So the imagery of Lions / Unicorns and comets smashing into them whilst fighting their enemies while looking FABULOUS really appealed to me haha.
In this photo however I was told I couldn't take a big block - so I took 8 single Unicorns and 2 single Great Stags...
So fast! Hehe

Which one? The one that didn't care about self cometting?
Or the multiple fast ITP chaff?

In a non-Storm of magic environment I would agree with you.
But with all the other crazy stuff happening, it was very mild...
Eg. My multiple unicorns were no match for necrofex colossus', exalted bloodthirsters/Lords of change, lol.
Let alone the game being focused on fulcrums

A block of Unicorns sounds like great fun - that's the kind of crazy unit Storm of Magic is all about.
I love the idea of this thread - I often "write" backgrounds to my units in my head, then forget about them later because I never record them anywhere.
