I am trying to find out where it states magic weapons have magical attacks As a follow question do other magical items that alter the attack count as magical? An example: I guess attacks from the sword of might is magical even though can't find where it says in the BRB. But are attack under a magic banner, flaming banner, magical? Edit adding FAQ Q: What are ‘magical attacks’? (p68) A: All attacks made by spells and magic items are considered to be magical attacks, as are all attacks that are specifically noted as being magical attacks. Shots fired from magical items are also considered to be magical attacks, unless their description specifically states otherwise. Hits inflicted by rolls on the Miscast table are treated as magical attacks.

Sword of Might + Flaming Banner = no flaming benefit, just magical.
Grail Knights however have magical attacks, so if given a Flaming banner, they have Magical & Flaming Attacks.
Neat huh?
It was an FAQ referencing the Ethereal rule. So all damage by magic items/spells are themselves, magical.

Strut - it looks like your first question about magic weapons having magical attacks is already answered in the FAQ you posted.
"do other magical items that alter the attack count as magical?" - not unless they specify that they are. So a unit with the Banner of Eternal Flame will have Flaming Attacks, but will not have magical attacks unless granted by something else.
I disagree with DiscoQing on magical attacks and flaming attacks being stackable. Nothing says they can't be, so therefore they are. A model with a Sword of Might in a unit with the Banner of Eternal Flame, will count as having magical attacks and benefit from the Flaming Attacks special rule.

DisoQing is correct.
BRB p. 69: Flaming Attacks
Unless otherwise stated, a model with this special rule has both Flaming shooting and close combat attacks (though any spells cast by the model are unaffected, as are any attacks made with magic weapons they might be wielding).

But the real question is: are attacks made under a magical banner magical. Like banner of eternal flame or razor standard.

No, since it does not specify that it grants magical, as well as Flaming Attacks. While the Banner is a magic standard, it does not make any attacks, magical or otherwise. Compare this to the Flaming Sword of Rhuin: it is an augment spell, which does not make any attacks either. However, the spell description specifies: "The target unit also counts as having both magical attacks and the Flaming Attacks special rule."

No - because they don't say that they are. Other items and/or abilities that effect entire units specify that the attacks are Magical. I can see how it's confusing though, of course. As the FAQ says that all attacks from magic items give magic attacks.

As pointed out in my previous post, the Banner is a magic item, but does not make any attacks itself - it just gives models in the unit the FA special rule, and thus the attacks made by those models are flaming, but not magical.

Yeah, I was just pointing out how it could be confusing I'd like Magic Resistance to play a part in miscasts, but maybe I'm weird.

We House Ruled it that way in the Baton Rouge meta during 8th's heyday.

I would be in favour of MR working against ALL enemy spells.
