Finished up a 3000 point battle today, my Tomb Kings versus my wife's Wood Elves. How did it go? Do we get a batrep perhaps?? Unfortunately I didn't make any notes on the game for a battle report. It turned out to be a good day for the Tomb Kings. I was able to table her army in the bottom of the 6th and final turn... with her last Treeman finally succumbing to a hail of poisoned Asaph arrow fire. The top star for the Tomb Kings was Khalida who along with her 75 strong archer unit managed to... - Kill a unit of 10 wardancers
- With help kill a unit of Tree Kin (with Khalida herself killing the last one in hand to hand combat... with some magical assistance).
- Kill a lone Spellweaver (who had lost her unit) with Khalida's Venom Staff bound spell
- Kill Naestra & Arahan off the back of their Dragon (and put 4 wounds on the Dragon)
- Finish off a Treeman who was sitting on 1 wound
Second star has to go to two units of 3 Sepulchral Stalkers, who both turned up on turn 2 and instantly killed a full health Treeman Ancient (who was the army's general).
Third star was the Casket of Souls, for providing some much needed Power Dice and finishing off the Dragon in turn 6.
Really the game came down to keeping the Wood Elves from engaging and shutting down the Khalida-star. The only thing that managed charge into them was a very badly weakened Treekin unit (while the Treekin was hexed and the Khalida Star was Augmented).
As for the poor performers, one unit of 5 Necropolis Knights were unable to do anything against a unit of 5 Sisters of the Throne + Spellweaver. In two turns (including a turn in which they charged) they managed to do pretty much nothing and were eventually charged by a Treeman and Dragon... they died quickly after that. The Necrosphinxs also had a poor showing (I know they are not all that great, but it wasn't a hard list... not that any TK list is). One Speed of Light augmented Necrosphinx did next to nothing and died fighting Treekin and the other did little but was able to survive the game.
It was a fun game with either really good or really bad rolls by each side.

Nice one. Good Tomb Kings win. I love Stalkers, they are often my best performing unit. Very underrated and nice to read about them dusting the tree. So we got a mini battle report after all

I love Stalkers, they are often my best performing unit. Very underrated and nice to read about them dusting the tree. It's good to hear of another person who appreciates the Stalkers. They typically receive a lot of hate among Tomb King players, but they are very often one of my best units on the battlefield. As for killing the Treeman, at this point I feel sorry for my wife. I can't think of a game where my Stalkers didn't kill her Treeman. There was one time (in another game) where they popped out and scattered in to a bad position and failed to kill the Treeman with shooting (brought it down to 2 wounds and killed one of their own in the process). The Treeman charged them, took a wound, but killed a Stalker, leaving only 1 wounded Stalker in the unit. Didn't the silly Stalker proceed to kill the Treeman in the subsequent round! Usually though a single unit of three will paste a Treeman in a turn or two, which is very easy to accomplish especially when they show up behind the Treeman and out of any charge arcs. Somehow all my best dice rolls seem to be focused on my Stalkers!

I don't know, man. That does not sound like the road to marital bliss.

Played a 2500 point game over the weekend, Skaven vs. Lizardmen. Victory to the Lizardmen! Lost control of a Doomwheel and had it careem into a Stegadon - that was funny . Had a warp-lightning cannon blow up, the other was killed by chameleon skinks. Lost a LOT of slaves to Saurus, and my Stormvermin had rubber halberds Fun game though! Man of the match by far were those damn chameleons - claiming the warp lightning cannon, the unit of gutter runners assigned to protect them (I suspect treachery), and in the end providing a charge and a rear bonus tipping the scales [more] in favor of a Saurus block against my Stormvermin. I will have revenge! EDIT: And this was the first time I've ever had a doomrocket prematurely detonate!! That killed a lot of rats...

I'm sure the Skaven will be scheming their devious plans for revenge.

Did a 2v2 game. Vamps and Ogres v. Dwarfs and High Elves.
No pictures unfortunately but it was pretty good. 1500 points each faction so 3k each side. Was a long game and High Elf player left turn 5 so we called it inconclusive.it was neck and neck though. Would of loved to have finished it.

I played a 2500 pt game this past weekend of Dark Elves vs Empire. Victory Empire. I was letting him try out my Empire and gave him a favorite build of mine.
Lords & Heroes: Arch Lector Lv2 Light Wizard Lv2 Heavens Wizard Ludwig Schwarzhelm Witch Hunter
Core: Knights Panther (Inner Circle) Knights of the White Wolf Archers (2 screening units)
Special: Teutogen Guard Mortar
Rare: 2 HBVG Luminark Hurricanum
My Dark Elves:
Lords & Heroes: Supreme Sorceress (on Dark Pegasus) Lokhir Fellheart Master BSB
Core: 3 units of Corsairs (Additional Hand Weapons)
Special: Cold One Chariot Cold One Riders War Hydra
Rare: Medusa Doomfire Warlocks
Basically, I couldn't match his magic dice generation each round (between the Luminark and Hurricanum extra dice and the three channels -one wizard had the Channeling Staff) and I simply couldn't get past all the armor saves. (Whenever the armor saves failed, the 6++ from the Luminark seemed to work half the time.) The HBVGs didn't have a huge impact on the game, though. Mostly because of the lack of Master Engineers. My defeat would've been even faster if they had MEs attached. The Mortar didn't do anything, other than take out a few of my own Archers! Knights Panther were the MVPs of the game though.

What can I say but all hail the High King. Each one of his 21 strong hammerer bodyguard died in noble service. Also not shown.......the dead Dark Elf Lord and Black Dragon killed by the hammerers. The day would have been lost if not for the High King's incredible staunchness. The battle was a draw.
