Here's a post from a UK T9A player who went to a recent 8th ed tournament, made me chuckle:
Hi all,
Don't normally bother about blogs but today I taught I'd share my opinion on how to best deal with jabroni's you come across through our beloved hobby. Now many people ask me "nav how do you handle dealing with jabronis that moan throughout your games?" , now many players have experienced this at some point at any game they have played. I went to a recent 8th ed tournament with about 37 other players who I never saw at the scene when the game was alive and I experienced jabroni tantrums at first hand, at one point a jabroni moaned about me chaffing him or how good my dice rolls where etc now rather then apologizing for just playing normally I just smiled and blew them a kiss and every time I rolled a six and one of smiley faces came up it just gave me that little bit extra sweetness making their tears just that sweeter.
Now don't get this wrong I'm not the bad guy...... they are
.
Now 'm fine with losing no harm done don't mind either its bad luck or tactical play so long as its just not cheating or slow play that's my only beef. But sometimes you will get a sore loser who will moan like a little child who never got kissed on the lips by his dad regardless of how nice you are or if you buy them a drink this is just flat out bad sportsmanship and if you do this your just a jabroni. I find that just smiling and trying to talk about something else another common interest sometimes helps calm the jabroni down in time they realize how amazing you are and how they are coming across and this is the last time you will probaberly see this sid eof the person.
Realizing when your being the Jabroni
Yes this is very important even you ! can be a jabroni!!! just make sure you know when your doing it and apologies realizing hen your having a little girly man tantrum and owning up to it makes you the bigger man trust me i'm bigger then you .
In short my top tips are:-
Praise Your Child's Efforts. ...
Role Model Good Sportsmanship. ...
Help Your Child Understand Feelings. ...
Teach Your Child Anger Management Skills. ...
Don't Let Your Child Win. ...
Ignore Temper Tantrums. ...
Practice Being a Graceful Winner.
All daddy's love peace.
