Wow! So way back in 1st and 2nd Warhammer 40K, I played both a Genestealer Invasion Force and a Genestealer Cult. These army lists were dropped in 3rd edition and beyond...until now... The Genestealer Cult is coming back in a new set: 1 Patriarch 1 Magus 1 Primus 2 Familiars 2 purestrains 12 1st/2nd Hybrids w/autopistols and CC weapons 2 Hybrids with Mining Lasers 4 Aberrants (2 with hammers) 4 3rd gen. with autoguns 2 3rd gen. with Grenade Launcher 8 4th gen. with autoguns 39 models total! I'm going to have to get this!

I started playing Warhammer with 40k back when it was 2nd edition, and I choose Tyranids as my army. There was a cult list in the Codex at the time, and us not being familiar with the game, I mix and matched regular Tyranids with Cult units. I loved my cult units, having a bit of everything I think (a Magnus, a Patriarch, a unit or two of Hybrids). While I think I sold most Hybrids I still have the Magnus and Patriarch as I love the models. I've always had in mind that I should repaint those models, but I always prioritize models that I actually play with. Those new models look sexy! The Magnus is perfect, looks nearly identical to the one I have. The Hybrids also looks quite similar to the old ones. Those little hybrid-infant or whatever they are are also quite cute The bigger mutant are also great to add variety. I don't play or collect 40k since 3rd edition, but those look tempting! But I'm sure GW prices will take care of the decision to get them or not for me

I'd like to see the Partriarch next to the Spawn of Cryptus/ leviathan broodlord as they look very similar. I think this one has more spikes though?
I still like the oop Magus

Ah that's interesting, RE: board game.
Does anyone know is there going to be a Cult army list for 40k?

I don't follow the 40k side of thing, so that might be nice. But I think here in Canada they're still about 150$ now. At best there might be the Genestealers half on eBay to look at. But it's not like I need yet another project in my pile anyway

It sure is a board game, kind of like Execution Force. If you want all those stealers it will be a good buy. If you don't, not so much. Also like Execution Force I would expect the models to become available separately in 6-12 months. They will probably make 40k rules as well. Maybe now, maybe later.

Cool. I actually like that it's a board game... I don't really want to learn the 40K rules hahha. I'd rather just paint up the the cultist and use them in the board game. Thanks for posting Anton.

Well, I got Execution Force because I liked the Assassins and I didn't have any for my Guard army before. It's a nice game but the replay value isn't great because there is only one mission to play and the game is not easily modified. I hope you can do more with Overkill.
