What does the FB group do for us that this forum does not? Well for one thing, the forum doesn’t allow our information to be sold nearly as easily as FB... I’m fine either way. Arguably FB has the better platform for sharing photos, setting up events, etc. But I don’t think what he is suggesting is to replace the forum, but rather make a small or private group to organize events, share battle reps, etc., rather than using this particular thread on EEFL. The thread could still exist and we could share the dates, but as people (hopefully) continue to join the group we can direct them to the private group. Either way, a cool name is key. Otherwise what’s the point of any of this? I always referred to it as the “EEFL, Mid-Atlantic Division”

If we did go that way, I would strongly support the EEFL prefix. Keep the linkage strong

So, I have a question. Who do you all recommend for movement trays? I am looking to get some that I can magnetizing my bases to.

I was just suggesting a facebook group because it's easier to communicate more quickly. I can get pop up notifications when someone messages me. In addition, it's easier to get someone on a facebook group than have them sign up for a different forum. Question is, who wants to moderate it? I can't have my phone on me in the workplace, so.....

So that’s a reason I want to make sure the link to EEFL is good. FB is good for some stuff, but not for historical content searching like a forum. Not to mention, you can’t categorize content like you can on a forum. So while I get signing up for a thing might seem like extra work, it’s still better in a ton of ways than FB. To me, a FB group is a good augment to this, but not even close to a replacement.

Facebook groups do actually have a pretty good search function but it's hard to find. It's on the left bar once you've gone to the group.
But yeah, Facebook and Discord are good for different things.
I do think this is a good idea and I'm happy to mod/run the page if people want.
I guess one question is how specific to get. We have a good number of people around DC, most of you are a bit further north. There are the squarehammer guys in Richmond. I'd be inclined to call it mid-atlantic (which does traditionally include NJ/NY) or DMV and have it be DC/MD/VA. Could also just be "EEFL Maryland Warhammer Fantasy Old World Gaming" or something. Thinking about it I think Mid-Atlantic might be better as you guys are not far from PA/DE which might have players.
(I do think group title should include both Warhammer Fantasy and Old World, part of the reason for going on Facebook is letting people find it and I think people will search on both. Ends up with a long kinda silly group title but whatever)

These are great points. I think having it as something for DMV is best since that’s the group of folks we are trying to attract. We aren’t setting up a tournament scene here, at least that’s not how we started. So I’m for keeping it to the DMV area and continuing to attract folks in the area for local-ish games. That way. Also concur about the naming having some draw to warhammer like glocks4interns is saying.

I am thinking about organizing and running a campaign. Thusly I dug out my copies of “Blood in the Badlands” and “Triumph and Treachery”, along with the two boxes worth of unpainted “Mighty Empires” tiles I have. I am thinking of making it a campaign based around seasons, comprising of 12 weeks of games. Where in a season represents a year in the old world. With a month or two break (of real time) between seasons, where time could have passed in the campaign if needed. I would like to try to make the seasons themed and or match major events that happened in the old world history. Things I would like to avoid are named characters and changing the history of the old world.
So, I would like to see who would like to be in this campaign and talk about where it should be set to include everyone’s choice of an army and also about when in the timeline to start. As well as set up the particulars.
