Wow, hands down the best painted night goblin army ever. Any ideas on a theme for a giant?

Thanks mate!
No idea to be honest. I have the stock plastic model, already assembled. I am thinking of sculpting him a huge beard and a mane of tangled hair, but no clue about colour schemes. I might just paint him normal skin colour as he should stand out from the other monsters and infantry nicely. I suck at getting myself motivated to paint big models!

Wow. That banner in particular. Wow! How long did all of that take you?

Hi and thanks a lot! Do you mean the banner or the army? The banner might have taken something like 4-5 hours with all the stripping etc. The final version was made pretty fast but I did practice it a lot. The army itself....is also hard to say! I know that I started collecting them gobbos in 7th ed, but only started painting during 8th edition. I would cautiously say that up to this moment it took around 8-9 years. That being said I have done some other painting too during that period, done a small space wolf force, a viking warband for Saga, a rather elaborate Malifaux crew, a gaming table for 40k etc. All in all I am a rather slow painter, mostly churning out around 60 - 70 models per year. This year I will be trying to speed up my painting process, as I have 4 other armies for WFB alone and I would like to see them completed before I'm 70 .

Yeah meant the whole army. I'm also a really slow (and mediocre, (me not you)) painter, I also never get any time to paint! I'd say that army was worth the wait, it's lovely.

Hey, Don't be hard on yourself! I really like your greenskin horde, that giant is especially lovely! I get to paint pretty frequently truth be told, it's mostly a lot of practice. I've also found that it's pretty key to know which corners to cut. When I paint my infantry the only parts of the gobbos I really put efort into is their skin and the red hoods. These are the focal points that will draw the viewers attention. The rest of the model is painted very plainly, often just a basecoat and a heavy wash, with some quick highlights on the robes. it speeds the process up, but realistically I'm only capable of adding 1-2 units a year.

Lovely battle pictures and a seriously good looking army! Thanks mate! No idea to be honest. I have the stock plastic model, already assembled. I might just paint him normal skin colour as he should stand out from the other monsters and infantry nicely. I suck at getting myself motivated to paint big models! The best thing to do with big models is just to crack on with them! I often find myself procrastinating over colours and what to do with them but once you get started I find they are actually much quicker to paint than units of infantry. Large areas which are essentially the same colour makes for quick work

Fi-fai-fo-fum! The giant has arrived! And a few detail shots: The giants favourite toy! And his "second breakfast". I pretty much followed Horace's advice. One day I just picked him up from the shelf and started painting, without a very coherent plan. His pants are actually inspired by the GW paintjobs. I even tried doing emblems to look likey they are made from banners sewn together, but I gave up after doing two. He's pretty busy looking anyway, so maybe it's for the best.Love all the bits that come with the box, I kind of regret not using the cow (saving that for something else). He nicely rounds out my force to 2500 points. I am trying him tomorrow against a fellow greenskin player. I am expecting hillarity and not much more!

The giant looks great! I love how he turned out. Recently I started mine, I also prefer to paint rank and file or some warmachines.
Hopefully he does well on the battlefield!
Cheers, WGG

Very nice painted models, like your color choice on the trolls, good 2 year decision 😃

Thank you guys, really appreciate the kind words. The giant looks great! I love how he turned out. Recently I started mine, I also prefer to paint rank and file or some warmachines. Hopefully he does well on the battlefield! Cheers, WGG So far he faced Skaven and O&G. Against Skaven he got stuck against 40 clanrats, killed like 4 over 3 rounds of combat, than crushed 11 as he fell over when they poked him to death. In the o&g game he ate a spear chukka bolt and a Doom diver in the first turn, rolled over and died. Doing great!
