Morning 8ers!
I was watching a batrep on YouTube and saw someone had taken The Fencers Blades, but on a wizard as a defensive measure. Obvz making your wizard WS10 means most, if not all, rank and file troops would only be hitting on 5s. So that had me deliberating; can you make a character all but impossible to hit??
One way I thought would be in a Warriors of Chaos army, to take the Fencers blades making your chap WS10, take the Glittering Scales for -1 to Hit, then the Mark of Nurgle for another -1 to hit. WS10 with -2 to hit makes the guy almost unhittable.
So, is there any other way of doing this?
Further, does this push the 'to hit' score to 7 (or above) making the guy ACTULLY unhittable?? Which begs a further question, is there a rule where it states "a 6 is always a pass, and a 1 is always a fail" ??
Food for thought...

Not impossible to hit as natural 6 always hit.
“If you roll too low, the Attack has missed, and if you equal or beat the required score, the Attack has hit. Sometimes modifiers apply to these rolls, but a natural dice score of 6 always hits and a natural dice score of 1 always misses.”
To wound though.... chaos dwarfs kadaii destroyer used to be unable to wound with 6T and -1 to wound rule before FAQ changed it to re roll successful wounds, for anything with S4 and lower.

Well that's great to know. [it's been a loong time!] At least I'd save the cashponts from the glittering scales! Great little trick for a Nurgle Sorc though...

The reason I said it was better, is because the majority if things that happily want to kill monsters are around s6, ignoring cannons. This guy is better around s6 and s7 The FAQ was a joke at the time, because even though they nerfed it, it still was one of the most powerful monsters lol. Didn't stop me trying to run 2 though.

I agree. S1, S2, S3 and S4 attacks are not really a threat to the Destroyer anyways. In the case of cannons, the difference is virtually nothing. In that sweet spot of S5-S6 the post FAQ version of the Destroyer is better. Obviously the psychological impact of the pre FAQ immunity to attacks of S4 or less is useful, but statistically they are pretty similar. I think the Destroyer can be counted among the top 10 (maybe even top 5) Monsters of Warhammer 8th edition.

It is a wild guess, but I should think it is a list of the most powerful monsters of Warhammer 8th edition.
