I am thinking of building and painting this list: I am happy to receive any feedback on how to improve or rebuild.
Forestdragon Wood Elves
Glade Lord: Forest Dragon; Charmed Shield; Armour of Destiny; Ogre Blade 540
Spellsinger: Level 2 Wizard; Lore of Beasts; Dispel Scroll 140
Glade Captain: Battle Standard Bearer; great weapon; Hail of Doom Arrow; Ironcurse Icon 139
Waystalker: The Bow of Loren 110
27 Eternal Guard: Eternal Warden; musician; standard bearer 327
6 Glade Riders: musician; standard bearer; trueflight arrows 152
6 Glade Riders: musician; standard bearer; trueflight arrows 152
12 Deepwood Scouts: hagbane tips 192
12 Deepwood Scouts: hagbane tips 192
6 Sisters of the Thorn: musician; standard bearer 176
10 Waywatchers 200
9 Waywatchers 180
2 500 points
The Ide is that the mage and captain goes with the spear that hold the center. Waystalker goes with waywatchers and should snipe any champion standing in the way of the dragon(challenge).

I quite like it. The lord is pretty much what I’d run.
If you are using the BSB as a combat multiplier for the eternal guard, I would really consider dropping the HODA and giving him the silvered steel armour for the 2+ save. I hate not taking the HODA, it feels wrong but he’ll be too easy to kill in combat if not in a challenge as he is only T3 (4 with beasts) with a 6+ save.
Random question, would giving the ironcurse icon to the lord, give the dragon a 6++ Ward vs warmachines?

It would, and I'd probably recommend it here.
My usual comment on dragonlord lists is what are you going to do when your tooled-up lord smashes into a unit, only to waste the first combat in a challenge against a champion? You're then open to counter-charges, and if there are disposable characters in there, they could just be thrown at you.
To work best, these kinds of lists need a second flying character - for HE Star Dragon lists, it was always a Noble on Eagle (and there were some chaps on the High Elf forum who were experts with the dragon lists), Dark Elves have the trusty pegasus Master, and then Wood Elves either have to go with a Glade Captain on Eagle or if you want to take the risk, a really fast cavalry character/champion. Your Sisters of Thorn are the only unit that might be able to fulfil that role, but don't have a champion.
I'd suggest trying to get a mobile character into the list - they can take the challenges (either squishing champions or sacrificing themselves against the really nasty challenge lords), prevent combat reforms so long as you charge on different facings, and if they've got the Crown of Command, can cover you if the combat goes tits-up and your Lord runs.

I get your point but I do feel the waystalker fill the same roll and probably even better. 2 shots should snipe a champion now and then and without sacrifice the model in combat. If I would upgrade champions for it it would probably be glade riders even if that means it’s bs upgrade is wasted by true flight arrows. It might be worth it though to have both riders and waystalker.

Good point on the Waystalker - I hadn't thought of him taking out champions - though the thread in the rules section suggests you'd have to snipe them the turn before charging, which makes your Dragonlord's target quite predictable.
The Glade Riders wouldn't work for the role - they arrive Turn 2, and can't charge then - so they're not able to help out until Turn 3. You want a Dragonlord in combat T2.

I am currently thinking of adding 2 units of Warhawk riders. They might be better then waystalker with flying and champ.

Am I the only one who notices the Armour of Destiny AND the Charmed Shield on the same character?

Am I the only one who notices the Armour of Destiny AND the Charmed Shield on the same character? I’ve always thought this can be a good combo depending on who you’re facing. Charmed shield is a 2+ ward against the first hit and is needed if you’re flying towards war machines. The look on the dwarf player’s face when the canon ball hit is prevented by a cheap magic item is one of the wonders of the old world.

As 1plussave was quite rightly trying to point out: both items are Magic Armour and thus cannot be taken together.

Whoops. I was getting the armour of destiny mixed up with the talisman of 4+ ward. Never crossed my mind that it was magic armour. Clue’s in the name really🙃

And that is even aside from the question of the duplication of Enchanted Arrows...

And that is even aside from the question of the duplication of Enchanted Arrows... Indeed but very few play with those rules as the implications make woody army list too boring and one dimensional. Same goes for the wild riders dilemma
