Should I count a Master on Dark Pegasus as 7 - Monstrous Cavalry? Technically that's the unit type, but it feels cheating for a single model. Same with counting the Dark Pegasus itself as a 13 - Monstrous Beast. I kind of managed 28 as well, as my Dreadlord on Black Dragon is meant to represent me in my Dark Elf army, but I didn't really convert him, so I'll save that for another army.

This will count as my "Homebrew unit". They're a mix between Pistoliers and Huntsmen. More in my Empire thread.

They all look great, Horace!
I'd say the Hoppers could count as skirmishing infantry because of their base size. They pretty much hit like infantry too. Other than movement, not real Cav advantage there.

By my count, I've painted this so far in 2020:
- 8 Boar Boyz
- 10 Savage Orcs
- 5 Spider Riders
- 1 Hippogryph
- 10 Miners
- 1 Giant
- 1 Arcane Frog
- 1 Dark Elf Master BSB
- 1 Dreadlord/Supreme Sorceress on Dark Pegasus
- 1 Master on Dark Pegasus
- 1 Sorceress on Dark Pegasus
- 10 Cold One Knights
- 40 Corsairs
- 10 Sisters of Slaughter
- 10 Dark Riders
- 10 Doomfire Warlocks
- 1 Sorceress on Dark Steed
- 1 Assassin
- 1 Black Ark Fleetmaster
- 20 Black Guard
- 1 Hydra
Which is a total of 144 models. I've also repainted a further 71. My aim for the year is to crack out another 100 Dark Elf models for the last third of the year, which means it'll be an infantry focus: - 20 Executioners
- 23 Black Guard
- 10 Darkshards
- 20 Bleakswords
- 22 Witch Elves
- 10 Shades
Which is 105 models; plus any associated characters I manage to squeeze in alongside them. That would leave me with just some monsters/chariots/shrines/characters/harpies to do, which I'll leave for next year.

Good list of goals, and great progress everybody so far! Would it be worth running something alongside the monthly challenges, to give some goals for the whole year? I was thinking of having a list of targets (examples below, some big and some small) and you try to tick off as many as possible before the end of the year. Not all targets will be possible for everyone (for example a dwarf player painting a monster) but there should be enough targets so that you've got plenty of achievable ones. Examples: 1) Paint a monster. 2) Paint a "faction leader" (e.g. Malekith, Greasus Goldtooth, Settra) 3) Paint 1,000 points of a new army 4) Paint an item of scenery 5) Paint an infantry unit of 40+ models 5) Convert and paint a model. ...and so on. I could probably knock together a list of 20-40 targets. EDIT: for ease of reference, the complete list is:- Paint a Monster
- Paint a ridden Monster
- Paint an Infantry unit of 40+ models
- Paint a unit of Skirmishing Infantry
- Paint a Chariot
- Paint a unit of 3+ Chariots
- Paint a unit of Monstrous Infantry
- Paint a Cavalry unit of 10+ models
- Paint a unit of Fast Cavalry
- Paint a Swarm
- Paint a unit of 10+ War Beasts
- Paint a unit of Monstrous Cavalry
- Paint a Monstrous Beast
- Paint a Warmachine
- Paint an artillery battery of 3+ warmachines for the same army
- Paint a model on a 150 x 100 base
- Paint a "faction leader" (e.g. Malekith, Greasus Goldtooth, Settra)
- Paint a Battle Standard Bearer - must be waving an actual banner!
- Paint a dragon
- Convert and paint a model
- Paint a flying unit/model
- Paint a unit with Always Strikes Last (e.g. great weapons)
- Paint an Ethereal unit
- Paint a unit with Flaming Attacks - with flames modelled on it
- Paint a unit with Stupidity
- Paint a non-GW/FW model you intend to use for WFB
- Paint an AoS model you intend to use for WFB
- Convert and paint a model that represents you on the battlefield!
- Paint a unit with homebrew rules
- Paint a unit worth 500+ points
- Paint 1,000 points of a new army
- Paint an item of scenery
- Paint a model that is predominantly yellow
- Celebrate your victories by painting a model with "trophies of war" (e.g. carrying a severed elf head after defeating your friend's Elven army)
- Repaint a model you screwed up before
- Paint more than 100 skulls over the course of the year
- Try a new basing scheme on a model
- Paint a castle/fortress!
- Paint a model that's clearly wielding the magic items you intend to use it with (e.g. Crown of Command)
- Paint a scroll-caddy wizard who is carrying a scroll
- Paint a character from a Black Library novel
- Paint a model with non-metallic metals
- Paint a model with GW Contrast paints
- Paint a model you've owned for 10+ years
For 2021, could this maybe made in a "proper hobby bingo"? There are enough goals on this list for a 6x6 version. With five more goals it could even be 7x7 - I prefer uneven setups, for the easy central field (which tends to be a "joker" of some sorts).
